I am new to the sport of airgunning, having only seriously gotten into it a couple of months ago, so I am the first to admit that my knowledge is limited, so this may be dumb question, but I have always wondered why it is that pellet performance can vary so much from rifle to rifle, especially in rifles of the exact same make, model and caliber? Why exactly is it that my S1k might shoot a certain type of pellet exceptionally well while another persons S1k may shoot the same pellet poorly? I assume the rifles that are not "hand made" are produced on computer automated assembly lines. Shouldn't that mean that each rifle is manufactured by the same machines, using the same technique and to the same tolerances? Anyway, it's just something I have been wondering about so I thought I'd post the question and ask people much more knowledgeable than myself.
