For about the last week theres been a chicken theif out on my dad's farm, a fox.! Dad.s been ribbing me to come out and get it with my fancy air rifles, as he put's it hehe. I decided last night to plan a pre dawn raid, get the enemy before he get's you.Awoke about 2:00 am this morning, stumbled around a little, threw some java on my face, figured that would work better then drinking it and fell into my hunting outfit. I decided that the CFX would be a good choice , explained to it  it's duties this morning and grabbed the tin of PREDATOR'S. I stepped out the back door and realized that somehow the house had been transported to the NORTH POLE, about a foot of snow and blowing snow. Locked in the hub's on the 4x4, warmed it up and off I go. After about a 15 min. drive which should take 5 min. pulled into pop's place, he was up with a pot of java ready, what a dad.! We chewed the fat, figuring out tactic's and I showed him my weapon of choice and ammo, He was impressed by both to my amazment.Ok enough chit chat, I set up camp about 10 yrds from the coop and where the theif has been getting in. My dad had made me a haybale bunker the day before so I had some cover from the element's, looked like a square igloo this morning.Dropped inside, chambered a predator into CFX and waited, and waited and waited some more hmmm. After about a hour of wiping the snow from my eye's, I came to the conclusion that the fox had outsmarted me, while I'm out here freezing my pellet's off he's tucked into his den nice and cozy waiting for Mother Nature to settle down.I thought to myself, Ok not today but I'll get em . I waded through the snow back to the house and spent some time drinking java and hanging with dad, time well spent.Sorry fellow hunter's , no game , no pic,s but I think I did come back with frost bite on my butt hehe. No worries though Mr.fox and I have just started, first round, Mr fox. :) hunting , Ed

To steal Jeff's tag line
"If it was easy it wouldn't be hunting, it would be shopping."
How true. Days like this make you appreciate the days when everything falls into place.

Yes I would agree. Like many activities that are taught from one generation to the next some of the most memorable time are about the individuals you spent time with.

I have no doubt you'll get that fox Ed.   His time on this earth is dwindling  and he doesn't even know it yet :)
