: On the Marauder...what is that flatblade screw on the scope rail?
: davee1 August 24, 2009, 12:52:15 PM

Ok guys...I am not thinking of going to the dark side. I'm already there!!!! I have a .22 Marauder in my hot little hands!!! I've pumped it up with my hill pump and fired it many times. And I was speechless because off the lack of springer sound...it's more of a slight "boong"...I dont think the nieghbors will even notice it. So now its time to put a scope on but I dont see any scopestop holes.

First question that comes up...on the scope rail, right above the bolt handle...what is that flatblade screw for? Is that a plug/provision for a scopestop hole?

I don't know the answer to "What is this screw?", but I can tell you that you wont need a scope stop pin, the gun doesn't recoil:)

Ha!!! Thats right...I'm so used to the springers recoil...that I instinctively looked for scopestop provisions.(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif)

DAVE ...  THAT LARGE BOLT  OVER THE SCOPE RAIL PRODUCE LESS  OR MORE  FRICTION AGAINST THE BOLT HANDLE.

YOU WILL HAVE A HARDER OR SOFTER BOLT HANDLE PULL USING THIS BOLT ADJUSTMENT.

IN MY CASE I UNSCREWED A LITTLE MORE OVER THE RAIL FOR LESS FRICTION TO PULL BACK THE HANDLE BOLT.  GERALD

Thanks Gerald...good to know. I think I'm gonna fool with that, because pullin back the bolt is a little more difficult than I figure it should be.

NO PROBLEM BUDDY.  THAT HAPPEN TO ME TOO. THE BOLT WAS A LITTLE HARD TO PULLED BACK IN MY FIRST DAY WITH THE MARAUDER.  ENJOY IT.  GERALD

Yep Jeff...its time to watch them critters drop. I've got a Kodiak .22 pellet just waitin to hit a raccoon, with the MRod as the shooting tool. I killed a lot of paper today with CPs too. A few times I wasnt sure if the pellet even hit the paper...it did, it just went thru the same hole created by former shots. Absolutely amazing I say. The wife likes it because it's quiet. I'll see if I can get her to shoot it...because there's no mainspring to overcome for cocking.

Yeah Dave,,,,,, I'm just patiently waiting for small game season to arrive here  (November 1st).  However,,,,, squirrel season open on September 1st in the rest of the state so I might just have to pack up the Marauder, a supply of pellets and head for my summer place up in the mountains so I can bag me some September bushytails    :)

OK, that's what the big flat blade screw is for but what about the two recessed screws in front of the magazine?

I can't find a parts diagram that says what these are for ...

DiscoDuck, I think you should ask that in a seperate thread...because your question isburied in this one.
