: Targets for Back Yard Plinking..
: Gene_SC August 26, 2009, 12:37:57 PM
Just now getting around to buying some more targets for my back yard. The last batch I got from Steelplinkers are fantastic metal targets. Just have to buy a few more from Ben and I should be set..:) I always need something new to shoot at. Here are some pics of the targets I have set up. Still have a couple that I need to put up and order some more..:) Never will have enough but I am working hard on it..:)

Gene Thats a fine group of targets you got there. There aint nothing like a back yard range, but I think you took it to a whole new level. How do decide which one to shoot at?? Skip

couple of small pvc stands holding cardboard/paper targets...  As well as some .22 cal spinner type targets out, one at 17 yds  and one down at 25 yds...  For random range, I took a broken marine vhf antenna element and bent it to hold some 99 cent spoons from wally world...  They are fun  :)

My targets are at different ranges. From 25 yards out to 50 yards from where I shoot. Makes for quite a challenge for me. I put the paper targets at different ranges so I can see where my shots are placed when sighting in my guns.

I have a couple of brass bells out past the 50 yard line hanging in the trees. Also some colored foam balls are out there also at about 60  yards.  Timmy shot holes in one of my brass bells with his .22 Marauder before he left the last time he was here. I could not believe he put holes in that brass bell at that distance..:) Not just one hole but one giant hole...:)

Gene,

When that new grandson out grows out of his baby toys, they make fun targets. It also gives grandma a excuse to buy new ones for him.

If you didn’t live so far away, I would help you out. After all, what is family for.(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif)

That's one heck of a range. My wife laughs at me for having "too much junk" and I don't have a 1/4 of what you got. That's awesome.

Well when your wife has to mow the yard then she can laugh...:) And I mean a push mower...:)

I still will be needing some target's with fur on em hehe. Ed
: RE: Targets for Back Yard Plinking..
: cactusrat March 25, 2010, 11:50:03 PM
Brother Ed, shooting fur is not “target practice”. That is called grocery shopping or pest management. However, if the only thing you have to shoot at has fur or feathers on it, then that is called ecstasy (no pill needed).(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif)
