: geewhiz380 September 01, 2009, 12:22:44 PM
cause as many know already im building my ags again and this time im doing it different i want to deal with mike melick and phil b.because they have got me started on my springers and im so grateful and happy to know these gentleman have shown me some love, respect and concern and i would never forget this trouble time.i have a shark .25cal co2 and its almost over and i have a disco w/pump that my children bought me cause of the price sunshine had .but as far as springers go i recieved a b26.177 powerhouse and a 350magnum with a macarri spring and seal so im on the right track ,now i want to invest in a another powerhouse like the b40.22 and if anyone has another option let me know price range 300.00 and a .22 at least 900fps but chronys at maybe low 800,s or high 700,s thats what we could expect from these fps thank u in advance jorge .....
: B40 is a medium powered rifle. About 13fpe.

With a B40 .22 you'll see velocities around 650-700fps.  The .177 will be around 880fps.

Regardless, I have a MM B40 .177 I simply love.  I didn't get a .22 since I wanted the B40 as a bench an FT gun.  It's a bit heavy.

To get those velocities with a .22, you will need a PCP.

I concur with you Bshot, I picked up a B40 myself in .177 and home tuned it. I threw a huge scope (4-16x56) on it and i am grouping in a 2 inch circle at 90 yards!!! mine shoots cpl at 903 fps avg. and is not dieseling, i got over 1000 shots thru it and is asmooth shooter. mine is zeroed in at 30 yards and i can make little cloverleafs that can be covered with a nickel. I concur about being a bench rifle since mine tips the scale at 11 lbs. I shot it off hand for a rifle silhouette competition about a monthe ago and got 1st place after a sudden death shootout versus a theoben rapid PCP. After 40 shots my arm was so tired. unbelieveable how heavy that rifle is. I had it benched and bounced a can 105 yards away (4 mil dots -). very consistent speed variance (8/9 fps + -). Also decided against a .22 since i wanted flat trajectory. For hunting i got a b26-1 .22 ... lighter, more manageable and shooting silver bears at 750 fps...

I will be shooting the b40 on the next HFT in long island this september...

Hey Gabe,
Were you in a sniper unit in the service?  Those are some really long shots to group 2"!  Maybe the rifle didn't win the FT but you!

My B40 .22 runs 725 fps. my B30 .22 runs 765 fps with a Maccari seal and tune kit. You can now get a full power tune kit for the B30 from Maccari. I may have to save up and get that one. Just to compare to the one currently in it.

No B... I only kept a "sharpshooter" status in the Army... got expert once in AIT but mostly got sharpshooter thru all my re-certifications... I am telling you, this is one of the easiest to shoot rifle i have. And if you think that is far, Martin at the shop is blasting clays on the side of a hill at 120 yards, and hitting a can at 150 yards with a whisper+ gasram+ trigger in .177. I got the same setup in a .22 and that one is hitting real hard and consistent, but only up to 75 yards. But the B40 , due to it's weight absorbs most of it's recoil and allows close groups at that distance while benched (holding it on an open hand). Also chairgunpro helps a ton (wakes the sniper up in you!). As long as you are accurate enetring your parameters it is a very reliable way to predict your shot placement and impacts. It also gives you the confidence that your shot might not go that astray at that range if you choose the right settings on the turrets.

essentially the good points of the b40 is tht it is 75% of the rifle (85% if tuned) that the tx200 is, at 30 % of the price. And the bad point is that it is not a tx... but i can definitely live with that!
