To keep my chickens warm this winter :-). Well, and me too, of course. I heat my shop with wood, the last few years have been a scramble, so this year I decided to try and get a jump on things. Had a whole log truck load dropped today, somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 cords of mixed fir and tamarack. Of course, now the real work starts, I still need to cut, split, and stack all of this! Just to put it in perspective, most of the logs are around 40 feet long and the pile is about 6 feet tall. Guess I've got my work "cut out" for me :-)! Later.

Dang, Dave! You could make your own Aggie bonfire.
That's way more than a cord. Is it really cold in Twisp, or do you have lots of chickens and a big workshop?
Be careful, that looks like real work. ;-)

Oh boy! Man toys! Chain saw & pneumatic log splitter? Is tamarack a hardwood? Be careful and have fun, Dave. Don't forget to wear you eye and ear protection when you crank up the chain saw, buddy.

Just think of the beautiful fence you could build me with all of that!
-
Dave, you had better get busy and start cutting and splitting that wood while it is still green and your ambition is high.

I see a small hunting cabin laying there hehe oh and that reminds me that I need to get together some wood for my place also. :o :) Ed

Is your wife any good with a chainsaw? ...

just think of what the neighbos imagine you're about to do! Careful, the TSA might view that as a terrorist act of some sort! lol

Now all you need is a Stihl hotsaw with full-warranty and a few jugs of cold water to chug while you're cutting it down! When I lived in New Mexico I cut wood pretty regularly and was bringing in some good money. That's a nice bundle you got there!
