Eric is still in the hospital. Pneumonia is all gone, but still has a lot of secretions, so they haven't pulled the breathing tube out for suction purposes. He's really *_*_*_*_*_*ed 'cuz they said it was going to be removed 2 days ago, plus he can't talk. May do a trachaeostomy on Monday to allow him to talk, but still have suction access.Should be OK, but long term, who knows. Depends on whether the secretions stop.
Thanks again for all your kind thoughts.

Thanks for all the support; I know it's been helping! Tube's coming out around 6AM tomorrow and a trach tube being installed. Eric's counting the minutes, as are we.

Eric got out of the hospital 2 weeks ago, but had to go back in last Sunday evening. He still remains and is requiring a ventilator as he can't handle all the lung secretions. He's pretty plugged up, but may come home this coming Wednesday. He will probaly require constant care for as long as he can stand it, but he's a fighter and we hope to have him around a while longer.

How long has he had the endotracheal tube? I am a surgical tech for a hospital in Lubbock, Tx and normally we will trach a patient after seven days anyway. Hope everything clears up soon, either way it sucks to be him right now.

Like the others,,, I will continue to pray for your son.
