Joe Wilson's website and phone numbers are busy busy busy.
Sure wish I could contact him to tell him thanks and voice my support.
-
Tommy, if and when you get thru to Jim Wilson, give him a big "Atta Boy" from me also. *Jim Wilson, Republican Congressman from the state of South Carolina.
About time someone in Congress has enough backbone to stand-up and voice an opinion contrary to the nonsence gushing out of Washington, D.C.
Since I don't have voting rights in S.C., I don't think a call from me would mean much.
-
Emergency stimulus bill -- $870 Billion
Government run single payer health care -- $12 Trillion/10 years (projected)
Look on BO's, Nancy P's and J. Biden's faces when Joe Wilson calls BO a liar to his face in front of the whole world -- Priceless!
-
i sent an email to him last night thanking him for his backbone. did you hear the comments from Lindsey Graham?....he is starting to sound like a liberal....i am starting to be disappointed in graham because he has started swinging on the fence on several issues.
-
so...do most here think that if a republican president would be in office america wouldn't be in this mess?
-
To put that question forward is a shadow argument for the false dichotomy that is the two party political system.
I believe that a different person in the White House could have fixed this issue in the 8 months that they would have been in office by now!

Sir, that is America with a capital A.
If the "mess" you refer to are deficits that have tripled in the first few months of the new administration, nationalization of the USA's mortgage lending, nationalization of 2 of 3 of the USA's largest auto manufacturers, cheating the holders of bonds and preferred stocks, and giving the biggest share of the proceeds to the auto worker's union, monetization of trillions of dollars of new debt, the appointment of thirty-some-odd "Czars" who's powers are outside of those delineated by the US constitution, and who include known self-avowed Marxists, Communists, and liberal radicles (one of whom was recently forced to resign), an administration that has released known terrorist from incarceration in Gitmo while making public the names and faces of CIA members who interrogated them, thereby obtaining invaluable information that very likely prevented one or more major terrorist attacks on the USA in the remaining 7 years of the Bush 43 administration, an administration that, to date, has arbitrarily closed a number of profitable, privately owned automobile dealerships and that has so far stiffed many others for billions of dollars in the "cash for clunkers" scheme, an administration that is intent on not only keeping US boarders open to illegal immigration, but also seeing to it those illegals are granted amnesty, given free health care, and are in effect, given the right to vote by making sure that they get drivers licenses and voter's registration without any necessity to prove their identity or country of birth, and an administration that is intent on cramming government run health care down the throats of, and against the will of a large majority of Americans who oppose government run health care, the crippling debt and the massive government bureaucracy that will surely follow, that financially supports ACORN and voter fraud with taxpayer dollars, that is in favor of a "Cap and Trade" scheme of massive new taxes on energy for the fallacious purpose of preventing the scientific farce of global warming, and an administration willing to back-stab our staunchest ally in the middle east, Israel, to "negotiate" with Iranian leaders intent on developing nuclear weapons . . . I could go on . . . that "mess"?
Hell damn yes!, I think a Republican President would be better. God forgive me -- Hilliary Rodham Clinton would be better. Bozo the [blanking] Clown would be better.

Lindsey Gramham is a RINO. a Republican In NAME ONLY. He is known for his goofy comments and he leaning towards the left.
And speaking of our representatives....Zaxby Chambliss , from Georgia, seems to be missing action. Another weasel. When he was running for office last time his staff pestered me almost to death begging for money. Now, I cannot get a reply from him except some sort of form letter type replies. If you contact him regarding a specific issue , such as illlegal immigration the reply will be about how much he has done for the basket weaving guilds of Georgia. Another Joker.

PS:
Geiger- The correct grammatical construction, you being from Canada, would be: So do most there (ie, actually living in the United States of America) think that . . .
Answer: yes.
-
TCups, - the BBC makes the exact same mistake, - they always seem to believe they're from the U.S. - Since that's where they get most of their news. They had a very negative report recently on the HIGH cost of the space shuttle, - as if they were paying for it.

as far as i know you had only two choices...McCain and Obama. what other person are you referring to?

you go to very specific things that i must admit i don't know that much.
but here's what i remember, McCain was also for the bailout. Bush postponed the collapse of the auto industry until a new president would be elected. Bush hired as advisers people who were before hand top managers of big corporations also. It's been said prisoners at Gitmo provided really poor intelligence and alot were innocent, the whole situation with these foreign combatants was a total *_*_*_*_*_* on all that the US stood for. Wasn't it bush who transferred personnel from border patrol to aid in Iraq and Afghanistan (remember watching it in Farenheit911)? global warming or not the US is the biggest (or now second biggest) polluter in the world. so you're proposing war with Iran?
my point being not to defend Obama, far from it. i'm just saying that the other side is no better.
you'll have the chance to vote again in a few years and i'm pretty sure which side you'll be voting for...despite what they'll have to offer.
it saddens me why the majority of americans can't realize this. but hey it's your country, keep the global pollution down, don't stir aggression near our borders and we can be best buddies (figuratively speaking). i only hope you'll be so vigorously critical when the "new" administration will be in power.

If you truly think "the other side" is no better, then you are a truly misinformed fatalist and a moral relativist, as well as a foreigner to American politics. There is, by God, something better. Something much better than criminals. socialist radicals, and union thugs taking over the US government and subverting the Constitution, the rule of law and common human decency.
As far as I am concerned, Joe Wilson is a hero -- and I hope his outburst is "The Shout Heard 'Round the World"
"YOU LIE!" are the two words which most succinctly sum up all of Barack Obama's life, political career and current Presidential policies.
Hey, Barack:
"YOU LIE!" "I HOPE YOU FAIL!!"
I am sending Joe Wilson a generous contribution.

bush, 2006 http://www.alternet.org/story/32382/
you see...any party that has been in power for that long (both democrat and republican) is bound to go rotten. i think you'll find plenty of evidence in history and the contemporary world.
call me a fatalist...oh no sir...i voted, and i voted for the one i thought would suit my needs, not for someone who was made popular by mass media. but it's really hard to asses the facts and debate about them, where there are millions of people who vote for someone judging what suit they wear, what dog they own, how cute they look when the get photographed with babies. come one how many read the political program of those who they voted for? i read BOs one.
i am slightly morally relativistic...what's your point? more of a value pluralist myself, but slightly relativistic yes.
about Joe Wilson...considering how much rightist accusations have been debunked (death panels, birthers,...) i wouldn't be surprised if it turned out another lie. but hey you never know...i'm still waiting for september 20th when the Chinese flag will be lifted up at the white house, that will surely be a spectacle.

Stories by Stephen Pizzo
http://www.alternet.org/authors/5086/
For example:
"They are blaming Obama for spending, after Bush's accomplishments: a crippled economy, two failed wars and environmental crisis?" etc., etc., etc. . . .
My responses:
Obama's spending makes any Bush spending and deficits (excessive as they were) look like chump change
Crippled economy: Bull crap. Obama and the Dems crippled our economy with the Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac debacle and confiscatory taxes. And in any case, everything Obama has done since the day he took office has rapidly made the economic crisis worse, MUCH WORSE than even in Bush's worst dreams. And yes, Bush was an a$$hole for agreeing to the first "Stimulus Bill", as was McCain. But BO has tripled the entire US deficit spending in his first few months of office, is monetizing debt by printing Monopoly Money, and has been on a spending spree of more taxpayer dollars than that of every prior US administration combined. So don't give me any BS about the Bush economy. This economy belongs to BO by several orders of magnitude, and those who have lost their jobs, or those of us who are having our wealth re-distributed by BO the likes of ACORN and his other minions just aren't buying the lie that Bush is to blame.
Two failed wars - I won't even go there, out of respect for those who have fought and served and died in Afghanistan and Iraq (including more than a few Canadians as I recall). By the way, BO promised to immediately withdraw all US troops from Iraq (and Afghanistan? -- don't recall that for sure) if he were elected. But that, as it turns out, was just another of the lies he told to get elected.
Pizzo, it seems to me, is purely a left wing liberal hack who has made a career out of Bush Bashing. Quote him all you want, but Pizzo has about as much credibility to me as, for example, if were I to quote extensively from Ann Coulter's writings to you (although I admire Ann because she is not only smart but funny and nice to look at). She has sure as hell reached a wider readership than Pizzo with her many best sellers, but I doubt she will ever be nominated for the Pulitzer. So I don't really give a fast flying four-legged fart about debating the history of the Bush Presidency at this point.
And I repeat, Joe Wilson was right.
President Obama, "YOU LIE! I HOPE YOU FAIL!"

it's true that obama spent alot, nobody is denying that. hell, i'm not even defending obama. all i'm saying the republicans have also had a very bad track record and i'd bet the US would be in a similar mess if someone from their side was leading.
and besides...the list of Bushes lies is also quite long. again, i'm not defending obama, but by supporting the other side with just as many fu** ups, you're not really helping yourself and America.

Categories:[/b]Congress (http://"http://dyn.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/index.cfm/category/Congress)Source: Wilson breaks $1 million
A source on Rep. Joe Wilson's campaign says his fundraising has broken $1 million -- and surpassed that of his Democratic rival, Rob Miller -- since his outburst of "You lie!" during President Obama's address to Congress Wednesday.
The source said Wilson's current tally is $1,005,021 from 18,859 donations amid a high-profile campaign on the Drudge Report and elsewhere telling conservatives that Wilson is "under attack" for his willingness to take on Obama.
Wilson, who initially apologized for his words, is now riding a reaction that has surpassed the liberal backlash to his words: Miller has raised less than $900,000, according to the Democratic fundraising site ActBlue (http://"http://www.actblue.com/entity/fundraisers/19079) -- though still more than enough to envigorate his challenge.
Still, Wilson's success -- despite having been criticized by Republican leaders -- represents the power of the conservative grassroots to reward politicians who confront the White House in the sharpest terms.
CORRECTION: He may still trail Democrat Rob Miller, who broke $1 million yesterday (http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2009/9/11/780703/-SC-02:-Thanks-A-Million!).
