No, they just mischaracterized it as a protest "against President Obama".  It isn't a protest against President Obama, per se.  Subtle distinction.  It is a protest against his policies -- big government, high taxes, staggering deficits, the nanny state, etc.

Fear Me.. That is what it was supposed to be... I think they heard us, but the media will not spread the joy. Any politician in washington should be in fear of the revolution... Its comming and its commin soon.. There are 305 million Americans and if only 1/3rd of them man up, thats 100 million good folks against the machine.. WE WILL WIN BACK OUR COUNTRY.. WE SURROUND THEM..

Tommy is right in this case..:) The media loves to twist things in light of how people see things. I do not watch TV or news but do read allot. I am able to pick and choose what is truth and what is not.

It is pretty simple to me. There are many other issues that need to be corrected and fixed before the government slaps us with another program to offset the last screw up.. I say fix Medi Care and eliminate illegal's from getting care and benefits.. Do you really think that Obama is telling the truth when he says no aliens will receive heath care in this new health plan?... Then I will sell you some beach front property I have in Arizona..:)

Wake up everyone and look at the whole picture.

as long as most of these protests aren't sponsored by deceptive corporations and other kind of lobbyists (which i believe part of them are) i don't have anything against them.
but i bet 50% of protesters have no effing idea why are they there.


i think the NYT article is relatively fair...now let's check FOX news.


oh and one more thing...if i'm not mistaken the USA doesn't belong just to the "south" and southern ideals, if you know what i mean.

No personal attacks, please.  Perhaps you would like to rephrase your comments.  Spell checker or not, your language is out of line, sir.  It will not be tolerated.  Most of the liberals I know and respect would never speak or post that kind of comment.  So, if you want your opinions to be known and respected, might I suggest you try a much different tone

And Randall:  

To disagree, the message is not "fear me", sir, it is "hear me!"  There were somewhere between 1 and 2 million Americans who showed up in Washington, DC for the peaceful protest.  They transported themselves there.  The arranged lodging.  They carried a message for millions more who would have liked to attend but couldn't.  You should tone down your rhetoric and address the issues, not bash liberals in general.  Squeaky or squeeky, name calling doesn't forward anyone's cause or ideals.

And geiger:

I assure you that every single one of them had a very clear idea of why they were there. The assertion that they were some sort of corporate dupes is absurd, by the way.  A clear illustration of how out of touch at least some Canadians are with the American political system and our current state of affairs.  

Americans:  

I care not whether you are liberal or conservative, Republican or Democrat.  What I do care about, passionately, is the preservation of our personal freedoms and a political system where both liberal and conservatives can co-exist and assert their individual beliefs and ideas without fear of government reprisal.  Again, what is being protested is massive government, massive government spending, crippling deficits, confiscatory taxation, the subversion of the principles enumerated in the America's Constitution, and the growing intrusion of an all-powerful godless state over the individual freedoms and personal responsibilities that God-fearing Americans love and hold dear.  It is the American people, not a powerful central government, that has and will continue to make the United States of America great.  And if our government officials don't understand or believe that, then it is time for them to go.

Mike, your comment about the US belonging to the South is really un called for. But the South has more history than most of the states west of us...:) Most of the liberals live in California..:) Just look at California's economy..:) The worst deficit in the nation. And it is controlled by libs.. Not a good example of good government I would think.
