: Where do these parts go?
: Froggfuzz September 14, 2009, 11:23:15 AM
Newbie here. Thanks for the opportunity to pose a question. I have e-mailed Gamo twice and no help, except they tell me to return it for repairs, which it does not need.

Here's the problem. I took apart my grandson's Shadow Fox to clean it and to re-mount the scope after he found it shifting rearward. I have two parts left over and asked Gamo for a schematic so I could see where they went. No luck; they don't give out that information. I e-mailed them again with pictures of the two parts and asked them where the two parts go. THey replied saying they don't know where they go because there are so many parts that look like the ones in the pictures I sent. It's hard to believe that no one recognizes the parts, especially since I told them which model if comes from. Makes me wonder just how they assemble them at the factory.

Anyway, I would gladly e-mail a private message with the pictures to anyone who might be able to tell me where the two parts go.

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give.

George, click on the Library link at the top of this page.  Top left corner of the Library page has several PDF's of Gamo rifles, either the Hunter or the S1K should be what you want, I believe the Shadow Fox is just another Shadow variant, and virtually all the Gamo rifles share the same power plant.  If you still need help, feel free to email me direct, just click on my name, email addy is in my profile.  Good luck.

Even better if you can post the photos here. I helped a member here with his Big Cat (If I remember correctly)...after he took it apart and put it back together and had two "extra" parts left over. Without even seeing one of the parts.....I would think it would be a black cube-ish plastic part with a cylinder shaped cut on one side. If that's one of the parts....that would go in-between the trigger assembly and the square bolt that holds that assembly down.

I say this....is because when I opened up my Viper and then put it back together....I didn't know where that piece was supposed to go. I had to open up my Big Cat carefully so no parts fell out to see where that part is.

Just a side note; the Gamos and Crosmans are virtually identical....but the Crosmans do not have that part.

Btw, Gamo always want you to send them your guns for repairs.....so they can make a few bucks off of you. Also to protect their rear-end in case they tell you something and you do it....and then an accident happen....they don't want to be liable. One of the reasons they won't sell Gamo parts to us lowly customers.....they might sell to a registered gunsmith.

Stanley,
I think you hit that nail squarely on the head. Your description of the one part (“a black cube-ish plastic part with a cylinder shaped cut on one side”) is right on the money. I have attached the photos. I think the other is part # 14300 on the Gamo Hunter 220 to 890 Schematics list.

I thank you for your help.

George

Ok....I see you photos....The cylinder black plastic part with the hole in the center is the roller. It goes into the little pin that sticks out on the cocking linkage. When you put the receiver back into the stock....make sure that roller don't fall off.....it's supposed to line up with the groove inside the stock.

The other square-ish part as mentioned before goes in-between the trigger assembly and square bolt. Put the trigger assembly back in, screw in the square bolt tightly (Use abit of Loc-Tite) and slip that black plastic part in-between them.....with the C-shaped side towards the bolt....if I remember correctly, the ragged edge side points down. Hope this helps.

Btw, this is exactly the same pieces the other member asked about.

I just got the darned thing back together, using the info from your post and the schematic part number. Thanks again. The grandson will be happy to have his gun back, after I sight it in. Thanbks, too, for making such a great resource available to others.

You're welcome. We're all family here....airgunners helping each other and trying to promote the sport. A few of the more experienced and long time airgunners helped me alot also.

Yeah first time I took stock off my Viper the linkage roller came off and baffled me for a few, and the trigger block(plasic) also came off. My four year old daughter said it goes there dad(she loves puzzles and helping Dad) And bygosh  it did go there.LOL Sometimes We Men think too technical, and just need to consult our kid's.AKJC1977

AKJC1977,

Thanks for your reply. I guess it's the same as not knowing how the DVD player or the VHS recorder works. If you can't figure it out, even with the help of the manual, ask the 10-year-old down the block. In five minutes he'll have it figured out and working.

Regards to you and keep the daughter handy for additional technical questions...

Hi Steven, a Big Welcome to the GTA forum and family.

Read my message # 167444 above, it'll tell you where that square-ish part goes.  You should slip it in-between the trigger assembly and the square bolt that holds down that assembly.  With the C - shaped side towards the bolt and the ragged edge side towards the receiver.  Hope this helps.

Thank you sir! I've got it back together.....my God....thats the best 32 bucks i've ever spent.....2 inch groups at 15 yards to 1/2 group all due to the trigger.....amazing, Bob is a wizard!!!

I'll second that Datamulch. That is the best investment you can make on your gun. I would probably not ever buy another Gamo if it were not for Bobs trigger.
