which one has turned out the best for u and what cal is best for target ,plinkin ,hunting small game or just for pest control.
-
gotta say its my b26 in .22 . its no rocket but will shoot consistent high 600s, likes el cheapo walmart wadcutters, one hole groups at 25 yards and enough power to drop a possum at 25 yards with a well placed head shot.
mikes trigger work is flat amazing and the more its used , the smoother it has gotten ! topped with a centerpoint 4x16, its my current go to gun..........

I have a B26 .22 and a B40 .177 from Mike. He also 'super tuned' my R7.
Of the 3, the R7 is tops. But as this is the China Forum, I think the B40 is twice the rifle. It cost 2x the price and was worth every penny.
For general airgunning and game up to rabbits, maybe gophers, .177 should be plenty. The B40 is pretty heavy, but it's a really impressive rifle. Incredibly accurate and about 2 or 3 FPE more powerful than the B26.
Hard to go wrong with either from Mike, but I must say the B40 is in another class.

Any rifle Mike has his hands on works fine, He's one great tuner. howie

I currently have three Diana 350 clones. The B-28, the B-28A, and a modified B-28. One in .177, one in .22, and one in .25 caliber. I'd say the .22 is the best so far in every aspect,...but that's because I've had it the longest. Next would be the .177, but it's gainning on the .22 with reguards to all around smoothness cocking and shooting. We're still in a joint developement on the .25's performance,...but I've no doubt it will eventually catch up with the others in no time. All three are hard hitters,...and for alot of shootist, more difficult to master. All I can say is practice, practice, practice!!!!!!LOL's, tjk

This is such a tough one...
I have three...B-26 in.177 self tuned, MM B-26-2 in.22, MM B-25 in .22. They are all really smooth and accurate.
I bought the B-26 for4-legged peststhat were raiding the bird feeder, and then I got hooked on targets. I should have stopped there.
There was no reason to go any further. I adjusted the trigger to be smooth and light.
It can takepests out to 40 yds... it has the power... I just can't hit crap at that distance.
My concern was that bad hit at 35-40 yds, so I bought the B-25-.22 for that extra punch, and I got it.
The B-25 has less retained powerthan the .177 at 40 yds. Yet,the .22knocks the snot out of them when they're hit and the .177 just drops them...go figure
I wasn't too happy with the B-25 trigger and weight, so I ordered the B-26-2 in .22 because it's much lighter.
Before it came in, I found out how to smooth and adjust the B-25 trigger, and It has become my favoritepest gun.
The B-26-2 in .22 shoots great like the .177, and at 10 yds. it's pretty much a clover leaf (due to my poor shooting).
I have been thinking about selling the B-26-2.What's stopping me is that when the pests are close in, I seem to grab it first.
The B-26 in.177 has been relegated tosmall pestand target duty because the pellets are cheap and the .22 makes a bloody mess to clean up onthe rodents:)
It's sighted in at 39.5 yds. with CHP 7.9 and can hit a 1" target from 10 - 40 yds. dead on. I use it to work on my artillery hold.
I think it's a tough choice. The B-26/26-2 have a shorter trigger reach, and I feel like I'm shooting a kids gun.
The B-25 is longer and feels more like the manly man's gun... :) :)

I Have the B-25 in .22, B26 in .177 and B26 in .22 (actually a b26-2 with a regular b26 stock on it) The triggers are great on the B26's . The B25 is good, but not as good as the 26. My favorite is the b26 .22 It also likes the walmart wadcutters. Very consistent gun. close 2nd is the B26 .177. I am not as consistent with this one as my .22 I dont know why. The B25 has a good bit more power which I really like. I just cant shoot it as well as the B26's. I dont shoot bad groups with the B25. I am new to airguns and still learning to shoot them.
The B26 .22 has a muzzle break. I dont know if that helps or not, this is just a very easy gun to shoot with plenty of power for hunting and pest control.

all really great reviews and i had an idea this thread was going to be a good one between the b26.177 and the b26-2 .22 the b25 seems like a good rifle also is that many of us have a few to many so we dont spend time with each individually and it really takes practice for spriger rifles cause they r tough but once u have master the hold then anyspringer in your hands will be a delight to shoot especially the magnums ,.the magnum rifles r the one im really try to focus on at least two hours three x,s a week cause i had the rws48.22 and i had that one pack down after 2 months now i have a 350 m .22 and im gettin use to a certain hold ,but practice with springers surely pays off ,i guess not to many will think the same so they turn to the dark side cause its easier and the hold really doesnt matter .i like it also but expensive for my blood im a 200 to 300 type of person i had the qb78.22 which also works fine ..anyway many b26 owners ..i need to try out the tf89.22 tuned.my favorite will have to be the .25 to go from talon tunes now thats a small game killer but pricey the sumtra.22 is another good one and powerful also .well so many rifles with so little time .
-
I know what you mean about the hold... I have been practicing also, but my neighboors are getting to be a pain.
I went to an RWS 850 because I wanted something quieter for the yard. You can't even hear it.
I'm really spoiled now. So much so, that I just bought one of those cheap Disco's. It should be hear tommorow.

I have a b26-2 although nothing to compare it to. I love it, and have been shooting every chance I get. I WILL say this: Mike Melick has extremely good customer service both before the sale AND after. A class act. I'm very happy with my purchase.
-
Jorge, you know I'm going to say my favorite Mike Melick rifle is...the next one! Cause you can't have enough of Mike's magic rifles! I have a 2250b .22, QB78 .22 and a B26-2 .22. They are all different but all fabulous in their own way. I guess I'd have to pick the B26. Smooth as butter and accurate. It helps that Howie redid the stock. Yes my B25 hits harder but since it is untuned it isn't as refined. B26!
-
Only have one but what a one it is, B26 in .22 alli can say is ACCURATE!!!! It took a little while to find out exactly how to master the artillery hold but once I did its a one ragged hole shooter at 30yrds and I only shoot one weight pellet out off it- 14.3 grain as long as I do my part she never fails to deliver, I've actually started to shoot it more than any powder burner I have, although I am very attached to my CZ75 SA 9mm pistol, its the most accurate pistol I've ever shot, I've been thinking about culling the powder burner herd a little to buy a couple more air rifles and to customize them. I'll always have powder burners but air rifles are so much more fun and economical to shoot, airgunning has actually made me a better shot than I was, and with the way ammunition prices are going I can only see me shooting airguns more and my powder burners less.

.this is proff that these airguns that mike sells r fantastic people got to learn how to hold them right so it could perform cause im a springer person and i practice and more practice and im pretty good with shootin them so shootin mikes b26.177 i had was no problem at all .if u r not sure about shootin any springer take your time cause mike does have great shooters and makes it to your liking just let him know cause he will perfected it .any b line he has will be made to your liking which is more than i could say for the malls .if its not mike ,gene or cdt i will not trust anyone else fixing my rifle. i commend all those gentlemen i mentioned and i have respect for all of them for such a job well done ...

:D I have a MM tuned Bam B26 in 17 cal. And a Bam B28 in 22cal tuned by MM also. Both are accurate and strong shooters. I like my 26 for everyday shooting over the 28. Easier to shoot, less recoil, smoother cocking, it does not wear me out. The 28 is a power house tho, and still pretty accurate for the power it has. Chinagunner

Mine's a .22 cal B40. It's a bit heavy for all day carry. It's accurate, pretty powerful, and very quiet. Good trigger pull, too.
