General Discussion To Gateway To Airguns => Gamo Gate => : Sunshine September 18, 2009, 12:03:33 PM

I'm new to this, folks, so be patient. I purchased from Gamo USA a new CFX, and on the same day a new GRT III upgrade (9-9-09). Most everything I see on this site says the GRT III is the thing to have. After reviewing all the installation info (ala CDT, Joe Meyers, Chuck Adams, et. al.) I have decided I have a new species of trigger because it doesn't look anything like the ones shown in various instructions. The new blade is a polymer, not stamped metal. I will try to include 2 images of the new assembly if I can figure how to do that. Question is: will the GRT III work with this new configuration, or do I have to renegotiate with CDT?
-
Here's the other view. Apparently only one graphic at a time.
-
Yea that's a new one for sure have not seen it befor.Have you shot it yet whats the trigger pull like?Maybe Gene will know.
-
Gene's off to shoot with Timmie. Maybe he will see this. Wonder if it's a totally new design? If so, let's hope it's better than the original.
-
I feel better now. It seems to be new. I'm new to springers, so I have no point of reference to anything including the old trigger. This trigger seems to have a lengthy pull (to me). I'm doing very well with open sights at 30 meters. Truthfully, the sights (sloppy) bother me more than the trigger. Eventually I will get a scope, but for now this is good enough for tree rats.
-
gamo's are well known for their very lenghty 8 lb. trigger pull,so this just might be an improvement or a redesign so that we can't replace their triggers so easily.
-
I don't think Gamo cares about after market triggers. Once they've gotten your $$$, it's adios, amigo! Parts? We don't go nostinkin' parts!
-
Let's wait for Gene's take on this. When did Gamo first start shipping guns with this change? What else have they changed?
-
This is my first Gamo anything. Shipped o/a 9-12-09. Never seen the original trigger assembly except in all the instructions and schematics available. My main question is will the GRT III trigger I have in my possession adapt to this configuration or has all that I've seen been wiped out? This new trigger is probably in the 4-5 pound range (opinion-not fact). It will serve my purposes since I'm not participating in the Olympics or competing. I am unaware of any other changes. Notice the retainer clips on the right side of the assembly. Not e-clips and the pins aren't grooved. Are they replaceable, or one-time use? This is why I haven't done any exploratory surgery.
-
The GRT-III will not work in the CFX with the new plastic trigger as is. I haven't physically seen one yet but there is a considerable difference. We need to determine what it will take or if possible to modify it to make it work. Gene did tell me that he was going to order one to see what other changes have been made. I've gotten e-mails from several new owners stating that the new trigger isn't any better or even as good as the original trigger in the CFX. I have a feeling that the CFX part of the Gamo market is going to drop.
-
Is the CFX the only Gamo using this new trigger ???
-
I believe all rifles using the CFX type of engine will use the new trigger group. It would not be economically sensible to do otherwise.
-
Do I foresee a "G-IV" trigger in the works Bob????? I wonder if the Chinese will follow suit and change (or for better words,...clone) their trigger groups as well!! I hope not!!! But now is the time to take action and stay a step ahead/above the lame factory crap Gamo is starting to produce,..it's only matter of time when the rest of the sheep will follow!!!! tjk
-
Well thats a bit blow for those that like a nice
smooth trigger...Is there a GRT IV in the pipe
line?
The thing is that 90% of air gun owners don't
care if a triggers good or bad as long as it makes the
gun go bang they are happy...It only realy the very small
percentage that venture into air gun forums that are
interested in a good trigger.......

Those clips are a thow away item...as you prise them off they
lose there spring...they can be reused but could work there
way off the shaft....

You can keep track here.
-
Gene, what are your views on this "development"?
-
Interesting! You can see inside of the box shooting?
Thanks

I'm happy that I have one of the older CFX's in .22 without all that junk wrapped around the trigger. Ed

It seems that Gamo is just using these triggers on the CFX Models. Not sure yet what they are about but I am getting a new CFX in next week where the client has taken his new trigger appart and cannot get it back together..:(
I will be taking it to CDT and we will both analyze it together. Should be interesting and we will get back to everyone about what we find.

Any idea when Gamo began installing these new trigger units? Been looking at one that was purchased in June. Not available for "live" eyeballing.
