: PEAK PELLETS ????
: howie1a September 19, 2009, 04:40:38 AM
I got some ((Peak pellets)) with a rifle from MM and they shoot very accurate both in 177 and 22 wadcutters, I know most of you think because they are cheep and china pellets they are junk but they seem to have good skirts ( kind of look like Daisy's) but we know Daisy's are made in Spain so can't be Daisy's, But that shoot as good as the Crossman HP and Gamo WC pellets. Has anyone else found the same thing ???   Howie

Yup... I love em. I shoot the Domes though. They're sort of a cross between a wadcutter and a true domed pellet. But the accuracy & consistency they have is pretty good.

I think they're one of the better values for practice/bulk ammo out there. You can get a case of 2000 from Archer for about $35 bucks shipped.

From My personal experience, the "Peaks" work best in lower the moderately powered rifles. At higher speeds, they tended to loose accuracy. Still hard to beat for the price if you want a cheap plinker round for the back yard!!! tjk

I tried a tin once and didn't have any luck whatsoever with them, maybe I just got a bad tin.....   Maybe I'll give em another try for backyard plinking....

A tip for peak pellets if they're inaccurate....

WASH EM!!! When you get them, they'l be dark grey. But VERY uniform. I wash mine in a jar with brake cleaner, then pour em into a sieve. All that graphite lube comes off and they shoot great afterwards.

They are for lower powered guns, but my Terrantula sprung Quest shoots them just fine.

The Daisy pellets sold by Wally world in the yellow can are in fact made in China, according to the packaging. My Daisy 22SG loves them. Maybe I should try them in my Fast Deer. It seems to have a loose .177 bore and is hard to find accurate pellets for. I thought about reaming out the rifling and sleeving it with a Crosman 2100 barrel (just because it's what I have available, and my 2100 has always given good accuracy).

BTW, I think I'll try the Peak Pellets. Are they the ones sold by Archer Airguns and Best Airgun on their website?

Yep, the Daisy Max Speeds I have are chinese.  They give me good accuracy.  In fact so do the Peak Match's.
I don't have any Peaks for .177 yet.
I think several years ago the daisy and Winchester brand were made in Spain.  The Winchester domes i have look like Gamo's.
