: Does anyone know if this sounds about right..

I built a PCP in .22 Caliber using a Walther/Lothar choked barrel.  I am powering it with a 13 cu. inch tank from JDSairman.  It has a regulator on the tank and for the life of me I cannot find my paperwork so I do not know it I bought the 1400psi regulator or the 1600psi regulator.

In any case I am getting speeds in the high 600's like 680fps, 690fps range for the most part.  Does is sound about right?

The reason I ask is that I have a Discovery in .177 I got from Mac1 with the power adjuster and it is pumping out speeds in the mid 900fps...

I am testing with the Crossman domed premier pellets 14.3 grains I beleive and the barrel is about 22" in total finished length.  I know these are heavier and larger so I know they won't be as fast I am just trying to determine if this is about right speed wise or if I have a valve or striker issue.

Thanks,
DonTMN

I modded my Disco .22 shooting a high 900 fps at 1800 psi.  At 1600, I'm getting around 880 fps.  I'm using 14.3 CPHP.  I think you can squeeze a bit more velocity.

Add some thin washers to the regulator.  When you open it you will see a bunch of curved washers, the last one will be flat that slips over an o ring.  find the same size washer and same thickness and place it next to the original flat washer.  This will add approx 100 fps for every washer you add.
