I just ordered a Tech force 67.
Anyone out there have one of these?
ordered from http://www.compasseco.com
I was looking for a lite shooter in 117.cal, & about 700fps, lite cocking & side lever.
-
I have one as, bought on Longisland Hunter's recommendation. It is an awesome rifle!!! mine shoots the daisy wadcutters into a 1 inch circle at 30 yards all day long. it shoots them at 720 fps and those are 7.8 gr!!! is good enough to hunt with, mine claiming a couple of bird feeder raiding squirrels at 25 yards. it will take a crow witha head shot at 25 yards.
when you get it, take apart and clean all the mistery oil off of it. make sure the seals are clean and have no plastic burrs, relube your rifle and put it together tightening the screws tight, but not to death (it will strip or crack the wood easily). Assemble it and then clean the barrel with Goo gone. then run some wads until they come out clean and dry. then start shooting... mine broke in after almost a full tin of CPLs. Now she shoots consistenly and quietly. I topped mine off with a long yere relief (5 inch) 2-7x32 leapers with an illuminated reticle) it all goes into a backpack and is the most underrated rifle out there. it is quiet, powerful enough, and discreet little shooter. congrats!!!
-
oh, if you like that, try the b3-1 AK 47 look alike from Bam... i got one too, same action as the 67, but has a longer barrel and a fold out paratrooper stock. get that one in .22 and it will shoot them out at about 550 fps... great knock down power... plus they got awesome tuning potential.
-
I got one of these little shooters, and I just got one for my brother.
I did what LD said, and I did a few other things.
These guns have an inherit weakness in the scope mount. The scope mount rail is wood-screwed into the forearm stock. I took mine, and epoxied the rail and the screws to the wood. Then I topped it off with a log eye relief scope.
On my brother's gun, I drilled the scope mount holes all the way through, and used long screws and locking nuts to afix the rail to the wood. Another thing to make sure of, is that the screws holding the barrel to the forearm stock are nice and snug.
On mine, the guide rod was VERY bent, so I made one out of delrin, and replaced it. ON my brother's gun, it was fine, so we left it.
Once you work out the little details..its a neat little shooter. Oh, the B3 cleaning kit spring will fit it, but its the same spring as the stock rifle, so dont expect higher fps numbers.

Wow hey thanks for the info Guy's that will help allot.
I'de read the scope was bad ! but rails too? :o I'll like working on any way.
are Xisico the same gun? Like parts enter change?
I was looking at the forarm on theres and it looks not as tall,
but it's not wood!
thanks Guy's

since we're on the subject,...what replacement spring would add a reasonable increase in fps for the b3 varients ? we chronoed one of my b3s at the last bbq and got 610fps at the muzzle using 14.3 grain domed pellets. as such,. im just curious as to which spring can be used to bump this up a bit............
-
Yes?
That is what I was thinking sence I've got too take the 67 apart when it comes in?
this is new for me! though I can build a Bike from scratch, the air gun is a unkown to me !
Like will I need a spring compresser? or will very thing just fly out?? when I puch out that Pin!
my Quest is one I'm thinking of deburring and cleaning, the fps is fine at 980 or so with 7.56gr
but what do you use to deburr, & the jm tar where do I get it.
I know how to lube mine & mix the moly 60/30hd, that works Great , even on the Bikes I Build.
& at Compasseco they clean the gun & test fire it , make sure everything works ok.
So is that all the gun needs?
it would be nice to find a UTube on how to take a china air gun apart. or tune up.
-
its not that hard,..........but the spring compressor is MUST have. search the library portion of this site, there are several diy spring compressor examples on hand, as well a a number of tuning guides.

Thank you,
will do,

and yes... it is the same gun. I did not have any problems with the scope rail. mine is as solid as a rock... Triry... Wow, 610 in .22 is sweet! I have only being able to squeeze 560 from the b3 AK lookalike...
-
it does sound sweet, I called compassco -said it would be ther austin tx on Tuesday can't wate.
mines the 117. :) ..
-
great choice... get a side rail, a laser and atact flashlight and you could be a mini swat team marksman...lol

is 610fps really that good ? this one shoots really hard now , punchimg clean thru 1" pine at 25 yards. i havent toyed much with this one as it had the worst out of the box trigger of any b3 ive owned. it looked like the trigger and sear were fabbed using a cutting torch, lots of polishing on these parts to get a decent trigger.
maybe i'll keep this one !!
-
yeah... in .22 they are rated at 450 fps. I have never seen less than 500 and i am happy with mid 500... so 610 is somewhat strong.
-
I think my B3-1 sidefolder .22 runs right at 450 fps. I definitely want to bump it up. Is the 67 the same thing as the QB57, ie: the takedown model that comes in the plastic "suitcase"? I have one of those and it's a lot of fun. I tuned it just for smooth fun. I may try to bump up the power if I can find out what spring I need to use for that. I'd like to use it for a short range squirrel popper.
If you want a really fun springer, save up and get a Baikal MP 514K. It's the black bullpup in .177 that holds 8 (I think) pellets in a rotary mag/clip. They're easy to tune, compressor not needed, just like the MP 512. Plus they look cool.
BTW, the first thing I did to my QB57 was file/sand off the finger grooves and the sharp, angular corners from the pistol grip. Much more comfortable to my hand now.
Enjoy yours. It's a lot of fun for not too much money.
-
hey jaymo... yes, it is the qb57. You do not need a new spring. I lube tuned mine and shot it... a lot. it's got like 2 tins thru it and it gained a bit of FPS to settle in the high 600s and low 700s (it shot 723 with hobbies and for giggles, 804 with pba!). I found a consistent pellet (the daisy wadcutter 7.8 gr) that is also decent in accuracy. It has done great and is a great squirrel hunter. head shots up to 30 yards are certain and quick death. I love anything that is a take down or a bullpup, so i looked at the baikal 514, but found it to claim very low speeds. have you shot one? what do you think? starlings? squirrels? range? I even wanted a izh 61 but ended up getting a Daisy powerline 953. witha little 4x32 is deadly up to 20 yards. is small, quiet, and looks offly tactical. i also got the mother of all tactical rifles, the Talon SS... but that is a whole different ball game...
But you are right, the 57 or 67 is a great little gun, and really under estimated. great urban hunter, fits in a back pack, pack a decent punch (it will shoot as hard as a HW30 or R7...) and is available in both calibers, plus you can buy a .177 and later on buy just the barrel assembly in .22 from archer airguns.
-
Yep, the TF67 is a QB57. Compasseco just gives them a different designation. You can also get them and lots of parts from Archer.
I bought the .22 barrel assembly this spring.
When you are doing all of the prep work, be sure to pop out the action from the stock and verify that all of the little clips are in place.
I also glued my scope rail in place and then drilled a scope stop hole in the rail. Works great!

I got my TF67 & TF35 Pistol in on the 28th . And to start with the TF67 is in my case a very poorly made gun! The For arm Wood is loose . But With Glasses on I can fill blow back from out of the piston? OK Step 1 screw on barrel TIGHT by hand .Step 2 pull back cocking lever, Now Tighten barrel screw again ? it as loose when you cock it? Now I shot it about 3 times & the Barrel Screw came loose again! I was shooting at the box that the UPS came in about 2'x2' at a range of 10 feet open sights the tf67 did not hit the box? so from 5 feet & hit the top right side,
So ajusted the front sight up out 5 turns ! shot from 5 feet hit the same place almost ,backed out the front sight 10 turns shot 2 rounds &hit almost the same !! this is hitting 1 1/2 foot high!
and 1 1/2 foot to the right..turned the for arm to the left as I said it's loose! . Now shot 2 rounds = Now hitting 1 1/2 foot high, & now has moved to left 2' BY now I've moved the windage -
all the way left & the gun is hitting 10" inch right Well better Now Hitting 10" left, 1 foot high So a 5shot group at 5 FEET is !#$%^*((^SU. put the gun down.. AT this point I'm like +++++
off with it. And to Top it off Looking down the hole Gun you can see that the front for arm is drilled off too the left , it's not in line with the gun.. AND THEY PUT THE WORD Accuracy!!
Compasseco will hear from me Today.AFTER this it Miller Time!!
Happy shootin
Big cat & Quest

Rontier,
Sorry to hear you got a bad one. My QB57 is the proverbial tack driver. I did tune it though but even though it is a direct sear trigger it is extremely smooth and way lighter than my TF97. Maybe someone here can give some advice.

Don't know what happened the day my TF67 came off the assy line??
I talked to Steve today at Conpasseco.com he was a Great help. & the Education UTube vidio's on some of the guns they have are
also good ,/wish all the people at Compasseco well,
:o Wife's Birthday was 28th & What ed I get her?? oh no !! I made up for it , took her too walmart :)
So I've got to chill on gettin a new gun /for a while!!
But still looking for a tack Driver for around 140.00 or less..
I got my Quest 1000 down & got disapointed again with the way it shoots at 15yards 3" group. /With it the GRT111 trigger is to lite?
I'm not sure how to set it? I think I turned the wrong screw?? anyway :(
the one on my big cat has some creep but smooth and is all most a tack driver, just not knowing when your going to get kicked is it's Game.
