: good pellets, bad pellets?
: shel67 September 22, 2009, 02:52:27 PM
Hey guys, I took the Disco out the other day to do a little field shooting. I ran out of jsb exacts and started shooting crosman premiere hunter magnums and tried some premiere hollow points as well. What a disappointment! I could not believe the terrible grouping I got with these pellets. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem with these pellets? I guess I'll order a fresh batch of jsb's rather than go through that again!

Hi Sheldon,

The short answer is YES. If you read much on this forum you probably know that each airgun has its own pellet prference. My Disco definitely does not like Premiers. It does like JSB Exact, Beeman Silver Sting, and LOVES Crossman Field Hunting pellets. Of course yours might like something different.

Probably the best investment you can make is the pellet sampler from Straight Shooters. It lets you try a lot of different pellets without having to buy a full tin of each one. You will be amazed at how much different your gun shoots with different pellets. A while back I posted a 24 pellet test with my Disco. It shows just how much pellet selection can affect how your gun shoots.
