What is the best pellet for use in the Gamo Whisper 22

Welcome,

I haven't tried alot, but of those I have, I've had best accuracy with RWS Super Domes. Second best was the RWS Super Hollow Points, then Preditors.

After installing an air venturi the Super Hollow points and Preditors are now also just as accurate in this gun as the Super Domes. And at 15 yards or less, shoot to the same POI.

I haven't had a chance to compare them beyond 15 yards yet.

As for your question, I prefer Predators and Crosman Hollow Points, both are very accurate and the Crosman Hollow Points offer better penetration on thicker headed animals in my experience.

funny, mine shoots the rws hobbies quite consistenly and accurately. and also kodiacs.

Welcome to GTA Jack,,,, nice to have you with us  :)

As for the best hunting pellet,,,,  predators are my first choice if they shoot well in your rifle.  If the preds don't shoot well give the Crosman Hollow Points a try,,,, most of my rifles shoot them well and they have proven to be very effective hunting pellets for me....

i would get the sampler pellets to see which is best cause spending 15 or 16 dollars on pellets that wont work is ridiculous 25 dollars and u get like 15 different pellets but preditors r best for hunting ,straight shooters sells them at the mall on the right hand side click on straight shooters then pellet sampler they have them in different cals which is great ....good luck frm jorge lopez nys......

I've only seen the .17 cal sample packs. Where do you get them in .22 ????

Now that I have a gas piston in my Whisper I've been looking to use heavier pellets. Now that spring breakage isn't a worry, this thread also got me thinking what would happen with lighter pellets?

When I first got the gun, I tried a few of the Gamo Raptors that came with the gun. Very poor group.

Last weekend I tried a few more.  First three was one ragged hole at 15 yrds. The next five started walking further and further in a line toward 2 o'clock. Last one was over 2 inches from POA.

At first I thought the scope had come loose. I went back to the Super Domes and all were in a nice tight group at the POA. I put the Raptors back in the extra parts box !
