just got the G1 kit as a beat around truck gun. and for 99.99 with a 4x32 centerpoint and a sock!!! I know , it will get a decent tune and then a 3-9x40 leapers.... but i still love the sock!!! Thanks jeff, your review was actually very helpful.
-
I love my G-1 Gabe,,,,, but the starlings and squirrels I aim her at don't like her one bit :)

That tuned G1 I got from Timmy is a cannon! AND accurate. Love the way it feels.
-
I gotta tell you, i put a 3-9x40 centerpoint and a adjustable trigger, what a difference. It is nicely predictable, and once is broken in, doubtless it will be agreat rifle. By the way... who is tuning the G1??? if this rifle was a bit smoother it would be perfect... PS. the gold trigger looks sharp... i guess it becamne a G1 double gold...lol

My G-1 was such a nice shooter "out of the box" that I just left it alone. It shot hard, straight and very smooth just as it was. I did wind up doing a full tune on my G-1 but only after A LOT of shooting and the fact that my chrony revealed the start of a piston seal problem. After the tune the G-1 was even better than I could've expected :)

What is the difference between the G1 Extreme and the Phantom 1000X? Pictures look like the Phantom has sights but the G1 does not (it appears to have a barrel weight instead). Crossmans website does not list the G1 (well, I can't find it anyway) , ... only the Phantom.
-
same rifle minus the open sights... I particularly like that is scope only as it is a long distance shooter. great rifles and mine is getting better every day. adjustable trigger is a MUST!!!
-
That's the package my friend bought a few months ago....and then sold to me minus the sock. His came with a CenterPoint 3X9-32mm AO mil-dot scope. The bottom of the receiver is very oily when I took off the stock to tighten the barrel pivot screw (The other Crosmans that I have were not like that). Accurate now at 10 meter distances....out to 40 and 50 yards I need to work on that. Might switch to a GRT III trigger later.
-
Chop it for balance and you're good to go!!!
-
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!! I want my G1 to be chopped like that!!!!!!!!!!! where did you sent it to get chopped? did it affect accuracy?
-
Tim corrupted me into chopping my G1 after I saw his G1 way back. i started at 14 inch measured from back of breech to tip but kinda messed up the re-crown and ended up with 13 1/2 inch barrel. As for accuracy.. I was able to tighten up my grouping as before after good re crowning. I just used a metal hacksaw #32 and miter box and just filed to smoothen up the cut then recrown it using my dremel using the white round stone i think it was 6/16 dia. after I grounded it with the head of a brass screw. Check it with a lens and q-tip..came out good then slipped my muzzle brake to aid in cocking and from THUDD to thud.
-
it looks unreal!!!! i can open and relube my rifles, but i am not comfortable chopping yet... maybe i'll find someone to do it...
-
I guess it depends where you hold the forestock.....I find it to be pretty balanced. I like the weight of the G1....heavy but not excessively....excellent for off-hand shooting and light enough to carry around all day. Unlike the plastic Gamo Whisper and Big Cat rifles....abit too light. The Viper's ok.

Just want you to know that I hate all of you. Dicks is only about 2 miles from my house and if it weren't for my car breaking down today it may have been me "breaking down". :D
-
walk dude, walk.... the coolest thing is you trying to walk back the 2 miles home without getting picked up by the FBI for "brandishing a silenced high power sniper weapon system"...lol
-
Randy, bum a ride, take a cab, walk. What ever it takes. Unless of course you need the funds for car repair. Which is more important. Good Luck with your wheels.
But don't worry about the G-1. Dick's locally has plenty and it appears that the $99.99 price is set for awhile.
-
Don't have a Dick's near and the Website shows only a Quest 1000 the pic shows a scope, but the write up does not???
Any in .22?
thanks

I might just have to go "grocery shopping" (http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif) Come to think of it, I think there is a Dick's by Wal-mart!

I am happy with mine. A Solid piece of AG. Just bought it this week. Bustin the fire out of apples at 30 ft. Still have not mounted the scope. Having too much fun just point shooting. Shotgun style.
