Pulled into my drive on my lunch break from work and eyed my backyard as I alway's do. There chewing on the wife's bird feeder is a bushytail.! Enough said, pulled the B3 from my gun rack in the truck and chambered a Predator pellet. Let's see I figured about 15yrd's from the hood of my truck to Mr. destruction.Layed her across the hood, set the crosshair's...the Predator speak's for it's self. Ed

nice one ed, is every tree-rat in SD 4lbs and 14 inches long!!!! those things are huge!! been away for awhile did I miss the fox or are you still working on him??
-
Mr. Fox is doing some traveling around. My dad's friend who live's across the road from my dad said the fox was in his hen house. I've tried predawn raid's, afternoon raid's hmmm. This sunday I told my dad that I was going to pull a all nighter out there since they like to hunt at night. He's got a old windmill that's about 40ft off the ground and sit's about 20ft from the hen house, sniper's elevation hehe. It's got a platform and I put some side board's on so's I don't fall and bonk my head. The adventure continue's. Ed

OUTSTANDING Ed,
Tell me, I have never eaten a backyard squirrel, one that has eaten a lot of bird seed, do they taste different, better ?
I know that turkey and deer from corn ares taste much better than deer from low lands and true will areas.

To me Bill they have sweeter taste to them and these guy's have getting their fill of it hehe. I marinade them in a lemon butter and honey sauce and stick em in the oven. Tasty stuff. Ed
-
Yeah Bill, I have to agree with Ed on the "sweeter" taste of backyards tree rats. I like the "wild" ones too, but the home grown ones are tastier. :)

Thanks Guys,
It has been many, many years since I have eaten treerat stew !
But when Jeff mentioned how big and good they looked, something clicked in my mind.
AHha, I thought, these buggers just may be better eatin than I remember. I allways remember the tough, strong tasting squirrel stew I had eaten years ago. Well, I have several fat, on my bird seed eatin squirrels !
I think it's time to play Memories on the C.D., as I roast me an Air Gun Lunch !
Thanks Guys,
Bill
