Stand by GTA Family,,, I have a new drill press now & just wait till Ya see what im fixin to do with it!!(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif)Can Ya say custom laminated scratch built stock??(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif)Skelotinized maybe??(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif)Stay tuned,,, I got some REAL surprises for Yall!! Im hitting Lowes monyana AM for some new cutter heads,,,,, a bunch of C-clamps & some of that thin Poplar/Aspen 1/4" X 6" X 36" wood they gots!! That thin aspen they have is very soft but good stuff. I work for Lowes so I get a discount on it. I use that thin stuff mostly the pine and maple for making toys for the kids. It kills me to put a 3/4 board through the planer to get thin stock so their stuff is good for me and not to expensive. If you want something more exotic se if there is a woodcraft store near you.

That's great Timmy and glad to see that you are going to finally reap some benefit for your labors. People are or should be willing to pay for good craftmanship/workmanship and a man should be compensated for his time, effort and expertise. More power to you my friend and we're all behind you.

I had a couple of hours late today of COMPLETE peace & quiet to gather my thoughts & play around with my new drill press,, get some jig ideas & cut out some templates for one off stocks!!(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif)It is amazing the ideas I can come up with with a few hours all to myself!!(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif)Im going out in the AM shopping for a few cutters/router bits Im gonna need as well as some wood. I cut out some templates for the Marauder stock today that I am VERY pleased with!! The inletting on the Marauder & Discovery stocks is as simple as it gets Folks. Im so exited with my new drill press & the fact that I can now inlet my own stocks from scratch now I cant tell Ya!!(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif)Like I said,,, stay tuned for some REALLY COOL stuff!! Thanks a MILLION for the new drill press "Mr Bob" (CDT),,,,, I doubt you are gonna want the old stock off my Marauder I started on when you see the new ones Im gonna be producing from scratch!!!!!!!!!!! That should be enough for 8 stocks!!(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif)Well,,,,, maybe 6 if I mess 2 of em up!!(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-surprised.gif)LOL!! We will pick thru the whole stack of Walnut to find a really good piece,,,, we are both good at that!! My Buddy Ping is a master craftsman with wood,,, he personally milled the oak wood for the Tall Ship,, "The Spirit Of South Carolina",, and also oversaw most of the construction!!(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif)He lives right next door & is always around when I need to bounce a few ideas back & forth with him. He is a charter boat Captain now. He has taken a real interest in my new gun/stock/grip busness & has been a great help to me!! He says I can pay him back $$ for wood & supplies when I start selling some stocks!!(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif)Thanks to Me Buddy "Mr Bob" I gots me a brand new drill press too!!!!!(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif)I may not ever go back to building houses,, I hope to be making stocks/grips ect for the rest of My time!!
