lets see how many are truly interested in this event. We need addresses. We need to know if your are laws are AR Rated GP...:) We need to know if you are willing to host this event.
My email address is: lecurtis@hughes.net
This would be a two to three day event preferably connected to a weekend.. ( Long Weekend )....:) Of course you will have to consider driving time etc.
Also we do not expect everyone to house us but it would be nice if there were hotels withing 10 to 15 miles of our shooting event...
Come guys, lets here from you.. It would be nice to meet each other and see who we are chatting with.. lol

I live in S.C. , in Anderson County. I live 12 miles from two towns that I do not think have hotels..:) Nearest hotels are in Anderson or Simpsonville.. CDT knows the are better than me cause he has lived here longest..
Would be no shooting laws to deal with. They love all guns here in the south..... hehe. They just have seasons for hunting.. The area we would be shooting at is 2 miles from my house. Private property and I have permission or will get permission for the meet. I have permission to hunt now there.
If it is hosted here, I have a small pool to cool off in if you want to bring your bathing suites...:) Temperature gets into the 90's with rain showers usually every week but usually in the late afternoon. Mornings are fantastic and the humidity is not a big deal...:) but i guess that depends on how sensitive you are to it... I lived in Souther California for almost 50 years and acclimated to S.C. just fine.. The humidity and heat is much worse in Southern California I may add..
OK now if anyone else wants to offer up a place to shoot, lets get it posted here..:)

Well Gene you know that I'm interested and you know were I'm located. I'd drive down to shoot up your state hehe. I'd even camp out if I had to, love ruffing it. I'd like to see what long weekend of the month our fellow member's could get off. Never been to S.C. hear it's nice. Have gun will travel. May need to kidnap Dano.! Ed

If I could work out the logistics, work and such,,, I'd certainly be interested. S.C. aint that far from me. It would really be nice, like Gene said, to have an opportunity to meet each other, shoot together and get to know each other better in person.
It would also give me a chance to get within reaching distance of that huge wall that Gene has posted pics of with all those gorgeous airguns hanging on it :)

Between you, Ed, and Dano, sounds like Gene will need to borrow Fritz to protect his guns :-)! Actually, my wife has family somewhere close to Ed, a cousin in Yankton, and another one somehere around there. But I'm interested, although Washington state to S.C. would certainly be one of the longest treks. Yup, just checked Mapquest, about 2700 miles. Sure we couldn't do Texas :-)? My time is pretty flexible, figureing out how to pay for the trip would be the tricky part.

Gene ; Got room for a newbie ; I live just down the road in Tyrone Georgia southwest of the big A . Depending on the weekend picked, I might could drive up and shoot with you guys. If it's mid summer I think I'd prefer an air-conditioned Motel6 to camping . 8) As far as the heat and humidity goes I've lived in Georgia all my 55 years and I "thought" I was used to it. If it weren't for air-conditioning I-20 and I-85 wood still be a dirt roads . I've been trying to get with some air gun folks here in Georgia and things just haven't come together. Hopefully I'll shoot my first field target match this Sunday. kirby

I'm in Kermit Texas. There are 2 hotels in town plus free RV hookups at the big park. The airgun range is 8 miles outside of town. We have a 20foot long gazebo and a 50 foot long covered area in front of the practice range. Tons of spinners, targets, , clay pigeon target, bell ringer, paddles, yardage markers and 11 field target lanes. There is a bathroom and a storage shed there, plus a large BBQ pit and table. Room for tents at the range if you want. Lot's of rabbit hunting around, or call in some coyotes. Plenty of parking at the airgun range. You'll see tons of doves around, quail are all over, and the ground squirrels come out when it's hot. The town has lot's of grackles too. Of course we will only shoot what is legal (ie: coyotes, rabbit, ground squirrel, gophers, etc.) You all are welcome to come and hold something here. I have an extra bedroom and can take 1 or 2 if 1 doesn't mind sleeping on the floor.

You got mail. :)

Check my post on the original thread. Kermit/mid/October works for me.

Count me in if it's within 200 miles of N.C.

May have to have an East and a West gathering . :) I'm not sure I could make to Texas . kirby
-
Now that's not a bad idea Kirby,,,, an east coast meet and a west coast meet. Might make it easier for alot of people to attend.
Jeff

Yes, great idea Kirby. I might be able to make an east coast meet. Sounds like fun.

Sounds like a plan to me, too. But Gene and CDT have to be at BOTH meets, guests of honor, don't ya know. There's gotta be some way to cut down the mileage, 2800 to SC, 1900 to Texas! In a Suburban? NOT!

Maybe the answer is to have a west, mid, and east coast meet with a moderator online via a laptop with a broadband connection, at each location, to coordinate the whole thing. Then everyone can be involved. The only problem is the time zone differance. But I think that would be a minor problem. Just another thought 8)
