Seems I just keep getting slamed from one person on all my custom stock posts on "another forum". Im really getting tired of being talked down to like some kind of "Johnny Come Lately" that just got into woodworking last year??:0 I tried explaining to the guy I have kiln dryed tens of thousands of board feet of lumber in my own solar kiln & know just a little bit about drying lumber & moisture content.8) Still,,, he keeps second guessing me & belittling me as an idiot?? PLEASE,,, If ANY of you here that I have done custom stocks or repairs for has ANY kind of issues with my work PLEASE let me know??:o I give my word that all my new stocks will be stable & true,,,,,, I aint going away anytime soon & I HATE it that this guy is giving me the third degree!!!!(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-frown.gif)Sorry for the "rant",,,, Tim.

Not worth losing sleep over, Tim. You've done some nice work and I'm sure you'll keep doing nice work. I know you've got a lot of fans here as well as there, don't let one moron screw up your day. AND you even had Steve Corcoran say nice things about your work, I have it on very good authority that THAT doesn't happen for no reason. And BTW, your response to your current PITA was pure class, I'd have bit his head off :-)! Later.

Yes there are many people out there that have never done a thing in their lives that claim to be experts on every subject ! Just ask him to post the photos of his work !!!! And then ask him how much he charges, and how long will it take !

I wouldn't even answer him, he just needs to feel alive by busting on someone. Ask him to put up, or shut up !

Tim , He obviously has no clue possibly unstable and not true:) Your work is perfect and I would ignor him , I have have been in business for 20 years ,always done things my way /different and the right thing by customers. I have learnt to ignor idiots and only worry about what I do... these people tend to dig a very deep hole which always makes me happy:) Keep up the great work, Tony.

timmy u know who u r and the talent u have cant compare to his whoever it is ,so dont get upset cause people get off of someone elses anger so dont feed into the bull .u did me a favor with a 350m that he could never do yes thats right he could never make it look like a procompact and it was excellent work .your stocks r worth alot of money and now the jealousy comes in .he wont be the first or the last so get use to it timmy cause u r the man buddy .u r truly a talented and gifted person so dont let a fool get u upset u got alot going for your self and have accomplished alot in life ,so carry on mate......from a wacky friend jorge lopez

I had that kind of problem for years and still do from you know (and every body else knows) who and a few of his cronies. I know how upsetting it can be believe me. But let me tell you something my friend. For the most part ignore it and it will pay you great dividends and in fact will promote you. That's what it did for me. It was the best free advertisement in the world. I hope he never quits to be honest with you because when people read his/their trash, they go to find out what it's all about and then they see what the rest of the world has to say and soon their credibility is destroyed. He has done more to promote sales for me than I could have ever done on my own. :p The same will happen for you.
You have a lot of support and friends on not only the GTA but other forums as well and you can be sure that you have my support and when you are set up and running, will be supported on the CDT website also. No charge for that either....:p
So you just take your time Timmy, keep chugging along and provide the best service that you can and there is no doubt in my mind that you will meet with success. Your reputation will be built on your accomplishments and integrity, not on some idiots bashing and trashing you. 8)
Bottom line, WELCOME IT, and it will make you well known. :)

Timbo, any publicity is good publicity, unless your a preacher caught with a prostitute.
Some peoples approach is destroy competition and trash talk them if you cant touch them.
We all know you and soon most any serious air gunner looking for a beautiful custom stock
will know you as well. You might even get to be as Famous as CDT. Perfection is a hard act to
follow.

Thanks so much for all the kind words Folks.:) Im really kinda over it but not so much??:0 How DARE someone that does not even know me or has not EVER seen my work reply in front of THOUSANDS of people with a responce like: "You obviously dont have a clue",,,,, "Let me spoon feed you this info". (Not a direct quote,, but close):o Not very fair indeed. Im trying to get over it & Im ok with it but,,, ADMIT it Folks,,, when YOU get "attacked" like this it tends to rile you up as well??:o Honestly,,, Im ok,,, it still hurts though. Considering I have always done all I could to help out my Friends in the airgun comunity any way I could??:o Tim.

Gene makes some good point Tim. It's sad but true this kind of unpleasantness and unfairness will be coming your way, and some will come your way even from your customers as you start getting paying customers. Some well known tuners stay away from the forums because of this kind of baloney. And some people are just going to be not happy with what you did for them no matter how much you do for them--in their mind you didn't give them what they want or somehow in their mind they think you slighted them. I do tech support and pretty good at what I do, but sometimes people will get unhappy with me for no good reason. Times like that it helps me feel better to remember most of the people do appreciate what I do.

timmy i m part of this community and very aware of your work and its is excellent like i said in my response u did something for me that i was very impressed and will always respect u and your work i wish u all the best and remember that God is always with u and i know that what im saying is true .hes not the first or the last so get use to it cause you dont need to get upset .people always apologize when its close to them needing something so ignore the person cause its all out of jealousy .timmy u have alot of love and respect from everyone here and im one of them .the nerve of some that dont know learn to listen and listen to learn ...as long u r on top people on the bottom will try to bring u down .u have enough great stuff going on so carry on buddy .the holidays r here and lets all be happy ok ....from a wacky friend jorgie porgie nyc.....

Thanks Dave Ole Buddy!! Yes I behaved in a nice manner in my replys. While I dont mind advice from experts at all,,, I do know a little about wood & dont apeciate being talked down to by someone that does not even know me or has seen my work??:0 Yes Im new to building stocks from scratch I admit. PLEASE dont challenge me on my knowledge of wood & moisture content after I have run my own saw mill & dryed tens of thousands of board feet of lumber!!8) It seems that I have not gotten a reply after I made TWO posts back to him??:o I will go head to head against ANYONE when it comes to propper drying of lumber. WORD!!8) There are NO "tables or charts" about the ART of lumber drying,,, it is a learned "Art".:) Every pc of lumber is differant,,, trust me,, I know. Man I cant wait for all the contreversy when I put up my first blanks & stocks for sale,,,,, buisness will be good!!(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif)Publicity is Publicity!!8) LOL!! It's hard to do, I know, but don't let it get to you. There's about a dozen posts in the shop gate alone that prove you know what your doing. Or maybe while you were working on all those stocks you just got incredibly lucky... about a dozen times... Yeah, that's got to be it... ;)
The GTA is really behind you here bud, and you deserve the support. Not only are you talented, but you're a good guy. You're drawing the support of a lot of great people, and the malice of a lot of not so great people. As they say in the Air Force, When you start to feel the flack, you know your on target. Best of luck buddy.

As I said before, Cutting stocks from scratch, by hand is an art.
I work in a Cabinet shop, and get all the wild and crazy wood that will not match the normal wood in the rest of the cabinets.
Unfortunately most of the wood I carve takes weeks to do, so there is no profit in it.

Hey Timmyj1959, It is the old saying Darned if ya do, and darned if ya don't. Some folks ya can't please no matter what you do to try to. You do nice work from what i seen on the forums.
What you do is like or very similar to what an artist creates or does. It takes time and it is done like everything else by trial and error. I know I did this as a singer/songwriter back when I was cutting records in Nashville, Tn. It takes good ald fashion time and still it dosen't work out the way you want it too. Still ya try!!!!
