Even if you absolutely NEVER go to the Religion and Politics Forum on the GTA, PLEASE check this post out. If it is true, it is the scariest thing yet about our new administration's plans for our future.

Tommy,,,, that is very scary indeed ,, I hope to God it's not true. Some of the things taking place in this country really have me concerned. Very scary times for honest, hard working Americans...

I am remiss in not following my NRA updates more carefully. Apparently, the bill is real, but the legislation is dead -- for now. But it gives pause to consider some of what might just be in those thousands of pages of legislation our elected officials apparently don't take the time to read. Time to send the NRA some more $. Of all the political organizations one can support financially, the NRA is one of the most effective.

That was posted a few months ago on another site I used to post on, - it's pretty much scare tactics from what I've read. - NOT that BO & friends wouldn't do it if they could - they'd do it in a heart beat. - If this was really in the works, - the NRA would be stuffing every mail box in the country with this.
-
Same conclusion I came to. The bill is on the NRA's web site, but is apparently "dead", at least for now. But then again, every time one of those 2000 page bills gets passed without folks reading it, bad stuff can happen.

This is what the NRA newsletter has to say:
Clearing Up the Rumors: The Truth About The "Gun Tax Bill" (http://www.ilaalerts.org/UM/T.asp?A1.2.5577.10.5081202) Over the past few months, NRA-ILA has received hundreds of e-mails warning us about "SB-2099," a bill that would supposedly require you to report all your guns on your income tax return every April 15.
Like many rumors, there's just a grain of truth to this one. Someone is recycling an old alert, which wasn't even very accurate when it was new.
