Well, finally got a couple of 'em to try out after hearing about them for so long. I read somewhere that they are generally considered comparable to a Tech Force scope. I will have to take a peek thru my neighbors TF to do a side by side.
I knida like the dust caps and the sunshade is handy.
I still need to tweek the ocular adjustment a tad on the 3-9 to try and clear it up a bit.
The 3-9x32A/O is moutned on my B26 and a 4x32A/O is currently on my QB57.
Can anyone give any thoughts on the mildots? I have never used them before. Thanks

Hey USN
I have both non an mil dot scopes...:) I prefer the mil dot scopes over the non mil dot. With my aging eyes I find that I need a 4x scope rather than a 3x.. I have the leapers 3 - 9X40 AO, and it is just not enough power for what I do.. I want a scope that will power down to 20 yards and out to 100 yards.. I rarely shoot past 50 or 60 yards at targets and most of my shooting is between 30 and 40 yards.. I would not have a problem shooting a tree rat at 50 yards with a couple of my springer but it would have to be a good head shot..:)
As far as scopes go, I personally think it is a personal matter in which scope suites your shooting style and eyes....:)
Good Luck

I recently got me one of these to pair up with my RWS 350. It has a pretty destructive
recoil that these scopes are reputed to be able to withstand by places like Straight Shooters (who's word I trust)
Anyhow, I ended up buying it from PA purely because they had the "other" stuff I wanted at a better price.
The scope's packaging is pretty good and it comes with a 3" sun shade and flip-up scope covers.
It has the following features taken directly from their ad at PA:
"Tru-Hunter Turrets
Windage and elevation housing features machine plate controlled seals, to eliminate risk of water ingress and fogging.
Tru-Hunter Turrets are manufactured in brass with easy to grip rings making adjustments simple even while wearing gloves.
Positive and precise 1/4 MOA for accurate and consistent shooting.
Wide Field of View with Tactical Mil-Dot Reticle
Wide field of view and edge to edge lens clarity allow for clearly picking up quarry on the peripheral edge of the sight picture.
The Precise Tactical Mil-Dot reticle allows the shooter to estimate ranges and enhance accuracy.
Power Illuminated Reticle with Red/Green Dual Illumination
Adjustable intensity of the illuminated reticle gives optimum reticle clarity in variable light conditions, increasing accuracy in daylight
and twilight environments. "
Sounds good?
Fist impressions:
The Scope is solid (read slightly heavy) and looks well made, however upon closer inspection it is a bit rough around the
edges. For example the threads that the Objective lens screws in on and that the sun shade would share are chewed up
quite a bit causing the sun shade not to screw in / up snugly without a bit of force.
The windage adjuster was also jammed solid. I had to back off the lock-down cover till it almost came off, before it "let go"
with a loud click and started turning.
Other than that it seems to work fine. the view through the scope can seem a tad foggy / hazy at times, but focusing it
produces a good clear image. It is more fussy about finding the "correct" relief to get a good whole view through the
eye piece. The FOV is nice and wide though.
The Reticle with Red/Green Dual Illumination... does just that, not bad either.
My take on this scope is that it's not bad (still have to see if it survives the RWS350's recoil) for the price.
The "damaged" threads left a bad first impression though. I tried to take a pic for you guys but its black on black
and would not come out.. sorry
However I have up till now always used BSA rifle / AR and non AR rated scopes on my springers and have not
had one die on me yet (fingers crossed) so I think that in future I'll stick with BSA, their QA seems to be better.
and the view through their scopes a bit cleaner / crisper.
Just a personal thing I guess.

Good review on the Leapers Roald. I have not found much wrong with the two I have but they are definetly heavier scopes.. Both have been on my Hunter 1250 without any failures.. One thing I do not like is the Leapers caps. they tend to be big and bulky unlike the BSA screw on caps.. I can keep them on and when ready just pop them in my pocket.. I do notice that most of the BSA scopes I own are clearer than the Leapers. But I think if I bought a higher end Leapers scope that would change.. Simmons and Bushnell seem to be the clearest to me, but the majority of my scopes are BSA.. Not one has failed me yet..:) Knock on wood! hehe

Hey Roald,
I've had a Leapers 4x16x50 mildot illum. reticle on my RWS 350 .22 since the gun was new and the scope has performed great. So far it's withstood the recoil of the 350 with no problem, and I've taken quite a few tree rats with that combo.

thats good to know, thanks Jeff... just for the record, who did you buy it through?

Bought it from cheaperthandirt.com
Their scope prices are usually pretty decent.

I don't remember the exact day but my un-True Strength 4x32 A/O scope bit the dust in mid September. I'm not going to pay a "processing fee" for something that is supposed to be under warranty. In fact, I'm not going to hassle with it at all.
Too many bad posts about this brand and this is supposed to be the studliest scope line they have.
I'm just going to sell it at my neighbor's next garage sale. I'm done with Leapers.

Anyone had any trouble with a Leapers/CenterPoint 4-16X40 illum. mil dot AO? Have one on my .22, and all this talk of unlucky Leapers has me spooked...
