My new Company,, Merediths Custom Stocks is getting really close to opening its doors. Thus far I have only done custom stocks on a very limited basis. Thanks to the kindness of a DEAR Friend my new wood duplicator machine has been paid for & should be shipped out to me in a few days.(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif)This machine while being aHUGE investment,, will give me the ability to duplicate inletting and/or outer stock shaping to within .005" accuracy ina matter of hours!!This opens up a WORLD of oppurtunitys for me. PLEASE be patient,,, I am several weeks away from takingANY orders. I was left with several thousands of $$ in airguns at my last Fun Shoot for custom stocks/mods ect.(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-surprised.gif)LOL!! My new website is being developed by My Buddy Roger. Just wanted to let Yall know,,,, in a month or so you will be able to buy custom stocks at reasonableprices. Bob has always been there for me and others when need of help. I have said many times that Bob is a man of good char actor, sincerely, honesty and kindness. He has a heart of gold and is always willing to help us out. He shoots from the hip and tells it the way it is. A man with a vast knowledge in the springer world who is always here for us.
I personally cannot thank Bob enough for all he has done for me but I will try..:) So Timmy show Bob you can be the best you can be and that will make his heart smile.

Best of Luck Tim!!! You've certainly demonstrated the talent!

Tim: I have a question for you regarding your new wood "duplicator". I understand it's utility in duplication of inlettting, but wonder if there is a way it can be made to do "mirror image" duplication, as with copying a RH stock into a LH version? If not, then I suppose the process would be to duplicate the RH inletting on the stock blank then, separately, duplicate the LH features of another stock. Is that correct? Can you duplicate inletting of a factory stock and then duplicate the specific features of another stock of any design to go with it, providing there is sufficient space and geometry to accommodate the rifle's action?
-
Way to go Timmy!!! I wish you luck with your new business venture. I have no doubt that you will do great with whatever you do. you are a very talented and motivated individual, with a heart of gold.
Can't wait to see some more of your custom creations :)

Thanks to ALL of my GTA FAMILY for all the ever so kind words!! (http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif)I just want to take a moment to clarfiy a few things here. First off,,, I have edited my original post where I was so exited I stated I could duplicate a stock with my new machine in a matter of "Minutes",,, I meant hours. I have also made statements before about shooting minute of angle,, when in fact the truth is I am lucky to shoot minute of hour!!(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-surprised.gif)LOL!! About my new duplicator machine: This is not a CNC machine. It still requiers "Hands On" thru out the whole process. One slip & you just ruined a VERY expensive chunk of wood!! Those of you with experience with high speed routers know what Im talking about. I am still not covinced that my new duplicator is the right tool for precise inletting. IMO other tools are better for that. Precise inletting is the most important part to building a good stock. This requires SEVERAL differant tools/jigs/patters ect. Then,,, if you want to do it right,,,, it can take several days if not weeks to shape a blank by hand to end up with one worth duplicating. Trust me,,, I cant tell Ya the time I have invested in the Ambi Marauder stock Im shaping now & am NO where near done with it!! When I get it done,,, I will then mount it in my duplicator & copy the outer shape. When it comes out of the machine it will look pretty nice,, (I have seen this process before). However,,, it will be rough shaped at best. You can then count on spending a tremendous amount of time hand sanding to refine all the crisp lines you took two weeks to shape on the original. Im not tryin ta discourage anyone,,,, Im just saying,,,, when the stock comes out of the machine with a 60 grit finish at best,,, thats a LONG ways off from rubbing it down with your favorite oil finish!!(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-surprised.gif)Tommy,,,, I got Ya covered Bro,,,, Been learnin some secrets!!(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif)Thanks again for all the kind words & support Folks,,,,,, Tim.

So, does this mean you'll be able to duplicate springer stocks? How about a QB78 Bullpup? That idea has been bugging me for a while.
-
A QB78..bullpup conversion
-
Yes, like that.
-
Tim , Great news on the new company and the duplicate machine:) You are a blessed man. I am definitely staying tuned to this one,:) Tony.
-
congrats! i cant wait to see what you have to offer!
-
Good for you, Tim. I look forward to seeing what happens now.
I have two gamo's I love to have in woode stocks. I ran a duplicator in a furnature factory many years ago, and duplicated stocks for a Diana pistol which I still have. They sure look better than plastic!
I am a hand engraver with much experience in firearms, though I'm not an FF at this time. If I can ever be of service, let me know. I'm going to put some work on one or two of my airguns and see how they look. Check my website, http://www.hand-engravers.com, no airguns , but a bunch of other stuff.
Good luck. Bob
