New here, and thought I would join in.  Bought a 1377 just for this competition, I hope to see improvement over the coming winter seasons.  I have to say this shows any flaws in your technique, the darn gun is a lot more accurate than I am.

Anyway, here is my entry, no laughing :-) , at least not out loud :-P

Hello and welcome! I'm new here too but it's a great forum. You can't beat a 1377 for cheap fun and they are darn accurate too.  I hope to get in some matches with my 1377 later in the week, it's raining today and they are calling for more tomorrow.

Great shooting with your new 1377 Dademoss.....and a big welcome to the GTA forum, family and Shooting Matches.  Did you shoot that match one-handed or two?  And have you squished the trigger spring abit (1mm to 2mm) to make it less heavy yet.....it would help alot.

I fired two handed.  Thanks for the spring tip, I will give it a squish when I get home tonight!

Hey Dade, if I remember correctly put the Safety "Off-Safe" if you intend to remove the metal plate that covers the trigger assembly. There's a very small ball bearing held by a small spring under tension in there....if it pops out you'll have a very difficult time putting it back in (Check Charlie Da Tuna's webpage.....he have a very good description about that)....if you can still find that ball bearing!!!!

I just slightly compressed the trigger spring with my finger and thumb and pulled in out and compressed it abit with pliers. And then put in back in. Don't compress the spring too much.......or you might not get the pistol to release all the air during the shot. Later on I did remove the two little screws that hold the plate that covers trigger assembly.....just to dab some grease into the contact points. Just make sure you don't play around with the safety while that plate is off.....or the ball bearing will pop out.

Hope this helps.

Welcome Dave, while you're at it also polish the mating surfaces of the trigger and sear, make a world of difference in feel and accuracy.

Enjoy the comps and see your score improve!

I was lucky yesterday, was able to buy a 2x Barska scope from a friend that had bought the zoom version, he only shoots 10 meters and 2x wasn't enough for him.

For 5 meters the regular 2x is perfect. Have to get used to using it and the extra weight, but first results are promising.

Thank you for the welcome.  The trigger and sear are polished, the sear spring is squished slightly, it shoots very nicely!  Now, for tons of practice :-D

Todays practice was 137/150

An important issue is the stance.

Stand before target, close your eyes, raise your arm(s), open your eyes and check if you're on target.

If not, do NOT move your body and/or arm but correct your position using your feet.

After shooting my first 3 shots, I remembered the advice Brutuz gave Dademoss about stance. I made adjustments to my stance and I started holding the sights on the target longer. Before I would drop the pistol down to see my shot placement now I started watching shot placement through the sights.

That's it Toolmaker......follow through.  If/when I don't shoot enough or lose concentration....I tend to drop my handgun or rifle also to peek over the sight/scope.....a bad habit.

Missed too many weeks recently, I should be good now. Most weeks anyway.

Actually starting to look fwd to some indoor weather. Been plinking alot with the kids and I've seen my target shooting skills slip a little.
Time to pay attention to the pistols and some 20y offhand shooting. (I shoot 10M AR targets at 10m with the pistol and 10y with the rifle and track my scores)
