: Turbo Tuned Air Hawk in .177 *** SOLD ***
: RedFeather November 19, 2009, 01:36:17 AM

Bought this to see what a well-tuned gun was like and, believe me, this IS a really well-tuned gun! Gene gave it the works with JM internals, custom parts, etc. Zero twang and a good trigger. But it's not getting shot (maybe twenty rounds through it), so it should go to someone who will get some good use out of it. $140, shipped CONUS.

Here she is from the outside - in: (Scope/mount not included - These were Gene's pics.)

First, scope/mount pictured are not mine. This is for the gun, alone.

Second, I don't have a chrony. Gun has Tesla seal, GRT spring. I would guess it is easily in the 900's.

Red,

I'm curious as to how much Gene's tune tamed affected the gun's hold sensitivity?  I have been playing around with a refurbished Air Hawk and have found it to be very sensitive to the placement of my shooting hand's thumb.  Oddly enough, it doesn't seem to be very sensitive to how I grip it with my offhand on the stock.  This is after a simple lube tune with no new parts internally.

Thanks,

Bobby

P.S. BTW, had you sold this rifle a few months back, then I would have jumped on it, but not now that I have my own copy already.  It's a shame really, because there is no way that I could ever match the tune job that Gene performed.  In fact, his post about this rifle back in the day was a major influence on my decision to purchase the refurbed Air Hawk that I now own.  Cse la vie :-)

Gun has been sold, pending funds.

I only shot it a couple of times but it did not seem to be that hold sensitive. Of course, it was at 10M with open sights. And I'm no great shot, LOL.
