I got tired of the grips on my 1377 shifting around no matter how tight the screws are. I want a nice set of custom grips but that's just not in the budget right now. I made up these simple delrin shims and they tightened up things nicely. I don't understand why Crosman doesn't make the hole the correct size to begin with. The shims are .125 ID and .187 OD. I pushed them in the grip and trimmed to length with a razor blade.

My plastic grips wiggle abit too....but since I`m practically hopeless with tools and tinkering....I`ll let it be. Great job with the shims.

Smoothing the casting edges with sanding paper improves it a lot. You can actualy see them on the pic above.

good idea!

another use for left over tubing
was this used to your transfer seal?
-
Nope, this wasn't tubing. It started out as a solid piece of delrin that I turned & drilled to the correct size.
-
i dont know what delrin is (ill google it later),,would delrin make a good transfer port seal
-
Yes, delrin would work for a transfer port seal, but it has to be machined to the correct size. It is much easier to use poly tubing, it can be cut to length with a razor blade. Here are some ideas: http://www.network54.com/Realm/CFTech/Bioportupdate.htm

Kudos to Toolmaker....he was going to send some free grip bolt hole shims to me. I had to decline since it`s probably going to cost him more in postage than the parts....plus I had planned to try to use the plastic ink tube (From a pen) to see if that works. Many thanks to Toolmaker anyways.

I'm just Lookin, & Thanks to Toolman for the good info,
looking at redoing my 1377 ,have put a stock on ,& got an 24" Barrel so far.
I was going to heat the stock too change the angle on it ,more for a scope mount with high rings.

I have been following this post since it began, as I have 2 -1377's and a 2300.
It would be great if a washer or different size tubing would fit, to true up the alignment pins !
I'll be checking to see if there is an easy fix that we all can use.
I never thought of this before though, and just tightened the screws ! My Bad !!!!
Thanks Matt ! GREAT POST !!!!!
