evenin' ya'll............
well after much research and great advice,..................i lopped 4 inches off the end of our (ryans and mine ) winchester 1000x. the rifle as recieved from ed aka shadow was a pristine gun,..........but a little long for my taste.
after lopping off the barrel ( its now a nice 13" ) and spending some time getting the crown to my liking, i can definitely say it made a heck of a difference ! increased fps, and definitely less hold sensitive.
now the issue is,........well im spoiled. my shooters have been tuned by mr mellick as well as tim of mac-1, so the triggers are things of beauty; this hatsan based winchester though has a heavy pull...........about 8#s by my scale.
ive found some trigger tuning info online for the hatsans, but was hoping one of ya'll might have this talent. ( or maybe some good ol advice )
seems to me a lighter trigger would be easier than bench lifting excersizes for my trigger finger !!
thanks in advance ................jim aka triry

Hi....There are 3 types of triggers used in the Hatsans over the years...
old single sear...
the later ones have a double sear...The diffrent between them is the
small spring,,some have a small coil spring between the sears ..the others
a hair clip style spring...On both you can replace the trigger spring
"long coil spring" with a bic ball point pen spring to lighten the trigger pull..
the top 2 pics are of mine..polished up...the long spring isn't in rhe pic...
bottom pic is the hair clip style spring version

Google airgun guru. I can't remember the web address, but it gives a thorough, inside look to these rifles, and a great section on smoothing out the trigger group. I polished the sear contacts on my PL and added a longer adjustment screw. It's pretty much a single stage trigger now, but very light pull. You want to be careful. The is a small "window" in the trigger group housing that you can view the sear levers when adjusting it. The trigger's a bit tricky to re-assemble,...but it ain't rocket science. Good Luck, tjk
