evenin ya'll. one of my best buddies donated a tank to the cause. its made by catalina, has current hydro and visual.............but was sold as a nitrous tank for automobile applications.
can this tank be used as a resevoir for my disco ?
its a din valve set-up ( an adapter to yoke style would be purchased ) and is a beutiful candy-apple red finish.............and was free.

You need to look at the numbers stamped into it and find out what the working pressure is. Catalina makes both high and low pressure cylinders. Go to http://www.catalinacylinders.com. You can email them with your info off the tank or you can call them at (714) 890-0999 and give them the info off the tank and find out from them what the working pressure is.
Their corporate headquarters is in Garden Grove California. Lucky for you, they're in-state. I've just emailed them to get a list of dealers in the Atlanta area who carry their scuba tanks. I'd really like to get a pony tank without getting cornholed on the price.
Wish I could buy the tanks from them for wholesale cost.

Remember, the only stupid question is the one you didn't ask. We're all here for a common cause, and I, for one never mind answering a question if I can.
Sorry I couldn't answer your question, but I was able to give you contact info for those who can.
Have a good weekend.

DOT-3AL1800 is what I believe you're looking for. It's an 1800psi aluminum tank. Mine says 3300 there and it is a 3300 psi tank.

Hope this helps

Yes, it's an 1,800 psi tank. You can use it to bulk fill your gun to 1,800 psi and then pump it up the last 200 psi with the hand pump.

Tirey

I have seen many3000 PSI tanks for sale in ebay and craigs list in the SD area. $75 to $125. YOU might also call around to the local dive shops for used or consignment tanks. I got a used SCBA off ebay for $60 and paid $30 for a hydro.

Good luck.
