I'm actually working on this very mod. I'm doing valve work on this one, a B50 valve, a Benji HB20 valve, a Crosman 760 valve, and possibly a Crosman 2100/2200 valve. Doesn't seem to be much room for improvement on the 2100 valve. It's awfully short. Going to try to increase the valve volume as much as possible(very little) and will probably install a lighter valve spring for ease of pumping and a tiny increase in volume. My Daisy 22SG has really spoiled me in terms of ease of pumping. I don't care if I have to cock all of my pumpers prior to pumping, if I can get a power increase and pumping as easy as the Daisy.

I'd like to get 700 fps out of my .22 cal QB79. I'd like to use it for squirrel hunting.
I want to make my AR2078 operate as efficiently and accurately as possible. Though I may convert it to PCP and see what kind of hunting power I can get from it.
Or maybe I'll just convert my 79 to PCP or HPA.
I sure am glad you posted these valve mods. I'm thinking about concentrating my airgun mod work on CO2/Pneumatic airguns. I love my springers, but I grew up on CO2/pneumatics. Plus there's a lot more room for improvement in power with them compared to springers. Plus I get to spend more time turning/milling/shaping.

If one is to remove the strike/piercing pin on the QB valve, what opens the 9oz paintball tank valve attached to the79?

the pin does nothing on the 79 the block at the front where the paintball bottle goes opens the paintball valve the striker pin is only needed on the 78 for 12gram caps
