I had some thoughts about cutting one from walnut, but the cost of the walnut alone, not counting my time would make it fairly expensive.  The stock blank I bought last year was semi-fancy walnut and it ran about 2X what those 440 stocks go for on the Gamo site.  You know how much I hated that S1K plastic stock, if there was an easy way to replace it I would have.  what was the difference between a S1K action and the 440 action that made it not fit that old 440 stock of yours Gene?  Now you're making me wonder...hehe, maybe I need to research this again and see about making a Gamo stock:)  Oh wait, I don't own a Gamo any more:(

Dano, It was the lil plastic roller on the bear trap linkage... The one on the 440 is smaller in diameter.. Other than that, it fit perfect..:)

That's it?  did you get Bob to cut you a nubbin of Delrin to make a new roller out of?  The whole process would most likely take 3-4 minutes i would think.

well looks like I'll need another Gamo so I can make a stock for it, so I can sell it so I can buy more airguns......this makes no sense at all......

Whaddya mean, it's all airgun money, so it makes perfect sense!  I was thinking about making a wood stock for my CFX, but I gave it to my brother for his birthday.  Maybe I'll just have to do something with the IZH 60.  Remember that pic you dug up, Dan?  THAT would be cool!

Good start.. Depending on what wood you use, do you think it may be a bit butt heavy?  I know it is just a rough template.. I think when you lower the comb it will slim out and start taking a very nice appearance... :)

Thanks again for sharing Mike

I think it will be ok after the comb is brought way down, maybe bring the bottom up some more and if need be scoop out the back side. Havn't decided on what wood I am going to use yet, I know where I can get a piece of juniper, but I don't know how well it would work. A piece of black walnut would be nice, if I can find it.

Didn't Sean in NZ make one, or am I mistaken on the type of gun?
