.....and I thought it was because of the wait time at the airports ever since that latest attempted bombing of an airliner.

I concur with what Bob typed above.

Amnesty will be the "two" of the "one-two punch" of the liberal agenda.  But an amnesty bill has to wait until after finishing universal health care.  If amnesty were passed before universal health care, then even the CBO couldn't cook the books enough to make the "cost" of health care look reasonable.  Bob's list lacks the last and most important benefit soon to be extended to illegal aliens in the USA -- the right to vote.  And if the pace of health care "reform" legislation, being rammed through the Senate on Christmas Eve offers any insight, you can bet the amnesty bill will follow very soon and long before the 2010 elections.  It will be the only chance for many of the liberals facing re-election to retain their seats.

Happy New Year

If you're going to slam illegals, then you should include the MANY native-born US citizens who don't bat an eye when it comes to hiring them to work in their hotels, kitchens and maintenance crews, paying below minimum wage, payroll taxes, etc. Who's worse? An illegal with TB or the restaurateur who hired him/her to wait tables or, better yet, cook your meal?

This really belongs here:

I agree, - I'm ALL for a $2,000.00 penalty for each illegal found on a job, and that's the first time. The fine goes up by $2,000.00 for each offense by the same employer after that. Background checks do cost a few bucks, but we can't have it both ways. - I work for a (international/foreign owned) defense contractor - and EVERYONE'S background is screened, including the cleaning crew, in great detail. It CAN be done, - and should be.

The old joke around here (DC) was "Want to know the fastest way to clear out a restaurant kitchen? Stick your head in the door and yell 'Immigration!!!!' "  :D

its not the immigrants fault for comming over here its the goverments fault ,no ellis island exist anymore but its true what bob said they get the red carpet treatment ,red i dont buy food from restaruants that has anything ilegal or what i dont see whats being cooked i wont buy at all ,and im sure u dont either.people buy anywhere affordable just to save a few but what they dont know is that the person cookin your food is not screened from a medical professional and is not legal .i rather go to a supermarket like pathmark where its fresh meat and i or my wife do the cooking cause even supermarkets hire them illlegally as constrution goes they really work hard .i have worked all my life since 14 then at the age of 19 milatary till 27 1985 to 1993 then parks officer and never encountered such drop in unemployment...bob and red have brang out very valid points and i do agree with the both of u guys and i hope u understand my point...jorge

Sure do. My grandparents, aunts and father were immigrants. My two kids (adopted) are immigrants. And they were all legal. It is a real pain to see some advocates for giving illegal immigrants the world when I have, personally, paid more money to INS than I like to think about, none of which was even tax deductible. Still, once a person is here on our soil, they have the basic right to being treated like human beings. Anyone wishing to see how the other shoe fits should rent "El Norte" for a peek at the illegal experience. If American citizens would obey their own laws and simpy not hire illegals, much of the attraction would be removed. But enough of that, since this is supposed to be a BS forum, not really political (although there is PLENTY of BS to be found in that pasture!)
: Re: Don't cross the border
: ShadowShot December 30, 2009, 10:18:15 AM
I have nothing against any race of man. All are welcome here IF they come the right way. I think it is borderline treason for people to hire them and it would be treason if our government legalizes them. I think the fines should be steeper for hiring illegals, $5000.00 a pop for each one they hire. If they do it knowingly, put their butts in prison.

The problem we have today in our country is not that we don't have enough laws, we have more than we need. The problem is a broken, corrupt and paid off judicial and legislative system. They are bought off by lobbyist and special interest groups. They're to busy playing the price is right and don't have time to do what's right.

We need one big house cleaning. Im not just talking about one party, I am talking about all of them. Where are our John Quincy Adams? Where are our Abraham Lincoln? What happened to men like George Washington who would pray all night before taking their men into battle? They would be willing to give their lives for their men and their country? What about the spirit of Patrick Henry, "Give me liberty or give me death"? This crowd has no interest for anything but them selves and THEIR OWN SPECIAL INTERESTS.

We have a bunch of two timing, panty waist, jellyfish for backbone, people who don't give a rats butt about our Constitution, our freedoms or the American people. They are a disgrace and a detriment to our Nation and our Flag. They dishonor all those who gave their lives for the freedoms we now enjoy. Instead of upholding the laws and Constitution, they chip away at it every day just to win more votes, to try and secure power for them selves.

The only ones who should be crossing our boarders are the traitors we have in Washington. If they want a socialist country,
leave and go find one, just get their little stinking money grabbing hands of this one. I didn't serve our country
in war time, (nor did any vet), trying support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic, just to watch it slowly be voted away against the will of the people. We speak up in town hall meeting. We speak up at tea parties, rallies and marches on Washington and they dare to turn a def ear to us, as if to say to Hades with us. If they don’t want to truly work for us or represent us, vote them out. Lets get people in who will do the job right. We don’t need Harvard or Yale graduates in Washington. We need honest and sincere people, who believe in our country and above all, have some God given common sense. Of course most of them don’t believe in God so how can they have any sense? They act like the sludge pond they believe they came from.

Well, I guess this should go in the political section now. I don't give a rats butt about being politically correct. We need to stop dumbing down or knuckling down to these political thugs and say it like it is.

I Guess this seems like it all came out of no where. I don't normally say anything about politics but this has festered long enough. I am NOT the only American who feels like this and by God its time we speak up. I have spoke up and you will never get an apology from me about it. Nuff said and I will say no more.
God Bless America.

Yep,time for the P&R. Which is why this belonged there in the first place.

And, for all of you lambasting the People in Washington, I will tell you the same thing I used to tell folks when I was in the Navy and they asked where from I told them "Washington, DC" I immediately got "You came from that town full of ()*(*%#'s???" Well, it's a fact that NO ONE in DC has a SINGLE voting representative. All those *&%&# Congressmen and Senators were elected and sent to DC by YOU, BABY!!!! Clean YOUR OWN HOUSE before you come sweeping mine! :D

: Re: Don't cross the border
: ShadowShot December 30, 2009, 02:05:52 PM
If you have no voting  for representatives, people in DC can't clean their house, so the American people will.
Besides, everyone in Washington ain't bad, your from there. There is some hope for the place.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Just pointing out that the people who actually have to live here (read that suffer) with those representatives often get slammed instead of the politicians. Kind of like the hotel staff getting heat for the rowdy borders.

Just wana say two things: While those that know me personally may disagree,, I am not predijousIn my 50 years I have had MANY DEAR Friends of "differant color".8) ( I cant spell nor correct my typing errors!!):0 #2,, I feel this thread would be better in the P&R. Man am I in trouble now!!(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cry.gif)Sorry. Tim. Just to clarify my position,,,,, this thread started out IMO perfectly apropriate for the "Back Room". It has however IMO progressed to the point of where I feel it may be better in P&R. As my Dad used to tell me when he put me on as shop foreman,,, Son: I did not give you this job to win any popularity contests!!:p LOL!!

As a 20 year veteran, I'm sickened EVERY day with what I read and see in the news. What the politicians andelected officialsare doing (have the GALL to do) to this once proud country is a total shame and disaster. Some say you can never go back. Some call it progress. Bull s#%t. And make no mistake, I vote EVERY time there is an election, national, state or local. I echo MANY of the comments made here. I hold no grude against ANY peoples unless they havean agenda that includes eliminating another race. If you do, my guns are loaded and ready.

I took my oath VERY seriously when I swore to support and defend the constitution against ALL enemies, foreign and domestic. And to bear true faith and allegiance to the same. SO HELP ME GOD!!!!! I still repeat that oath over and over. It's not something that goes away when the enlistment contract expires. Your WORD does not have a shelf life, or at least it shouldn't. It will forever ring true for me until I draw my last breath as a free citizen of these United States.

I've recently joined a local patriots group. Hopefully we can start another epidemic, to counter the one that has a head start on us here. I think the majority of good citizens will join in so our voices CAN be heard and no longer ignored. These carpet bagging, pocket lining, self serving jerks MUST go. There's also a place to help all of us get organized HERE[/i] (http://iftheyareintheyareout.com). Please feel free to look the site over and see if you might want to use it to channel your thoughts and help join those that believe the direction this country is goingis the WRONG way.

I'm tired of seeing all of the industry that helped make this country strong being forced to leave our shores and head tothird world countries or have to close their door completely. Our money goes to support THEIR economy. While they hold us prisoner with trade laws and import/export taxes. And seeing the shelves of our stores being filled with ANYTHING but Made In America. I live in a small rural area in Tennessee. I can show you within a 5 miles radius of my home, at least 8 empty factory sites that use to manufacture or assemble some of the best equipment available. They employed thousands of US citizens. They supported this country with their taxes and the local economy boomed. The impact of them having to close is almost beyond imagination. There's just TOO much wrong with THIS progress to get it all down in a post. Like others here have said, I will not offer any apology for my statements and beliefs. I'm just sick of watching our country being sold off one industry at a time. I'm tired of borrowing trillions from other countries for foolish reasons that is QUICKLY taking us away from being the world power and leader we once were. We were respected as well as feared. We are now owned by other countries and have to bend to their wishes because we now OWE them for all we haveborrowed. And we never collected from the last World War and ALL of the millions we gaveother countriesthrough thelend/lease program. We loaned them money, machines and materials to help them fight an enemy, survive and rebuild. Can we renig on our depts to other countries like theydid????? Nope.....we're America.

So,I'll step down from my soap box, for now. Come November 2010, if they are in they are out. That will be mymantra as I pull the lever in the voting booth. I hope you all do the same.

GOD Bless America and all you fine patriots!!!!!!!
