I've got a Tech Force 89 Contender in .22 that I really like. It is a hard shooter, is consistant, is very accurate off-hand but is hold-sensitive (escpecially off any type of support). I've got it to shoot decent groups from a bench but would like it to be easier to shoot that way. After many hours of reading on this forum I've only run across one tuner: Gene at airguntoys.com. Which would be recommended: a SuperTune or TurboTune? I know what the differences are but is the extra $$ worth it for the TurboTune?
In the interest of competition and shopping around, are there any others that will tune the TF-89?
Thanks for any help.

My .22 TF-89 is exactly the same...... offhand it shoots extremely accurately but when shooting from my shooting bench, or any other support, the rifle becomes extremely hold sensitive and difficult to shoot accurately. The chronograph testing on my rifle shows it to be shooting in the mid 800's and the fps is very consistent. Mine is still "bone stock" but if I decide to get it tuned I'd be sending it to Gene for sure :)

I had Gene Turbo Tune my TF89 .22 and it's worth every penny, not only is th gun smoother but it's less hold sensitive now by far, there is no spring noise or buzz- just a solid thud, mine is shooting harder now too, my gun was brand new when i sent it to g
Gene but had a partially torn seal and a week spring, now it's shooting in the 26fpe range , when it hits a bird or squirrell theres nothing but a solid thwack and a dead animal, quick humane kills every time, and the gun is dead accurate, just for fun I sit and break branches off the trees in my yard with it at 40 yards. Gene will work magic on your gun, the trigger will be better too.

Fear the tune no more thiers a new Vortek kit in development for the TF89's an 99's as we speak. this is a drop in kit just like the other kits. I spoke to Eric at Compasseco this morning and he told me a kit is being made for these guns, he said it would take about 2 weeks probly before they would show up thier he said so thier you have it.

I just had Gene tune my TF89 .22. It started out pretty awesome and consistent, and I imagine now that it is even better (hasn't come back yet). I've had him tune other rifles, and he does a great job. Turbo Tune it. You'll be happy.

Thanks Bookdoc!
Please let us know how the tune changed things (velocity, consistency, accuracy, hold-sensitivity). I've got the cash for a TurboTune but will wait until after our next starling shooting trip next weekend to send it in.
Thanks.

I'm getting it back on the 6th and will probably chrony the following weekend. I have that info listed in my signature, so you'll see it when you see my posts!

What is this Vortek kit of which you speak?
-
It's a spring and buttoned double guide system that takes away spring vibration torque and reduces db levels, over all it smooth's up your firing cycle retains fps or my increase fps and it's a drop in kit

I have a TF99, which is a strong air rifle that is great off-hand but not so great in a bench vise. Will this new system also be for it ? What will be the price for it and when does it come out?
-
Looks like $75 for most of the kits. It will save you a little bit over a tune, depending on who does it. You still need a spring compressor I think to put your gun back together.

that not a bad price, I have already done a few tune tunes for myself and I guess they turned out ok ( the rifles are still shooting :D ) and seem to have gotten smoother with some gained fps.
