i'm not talking about the more expensive (over 3000 psi) pcps, but how do you that have .25 cals like them ?? i almost bought a used .25 falcon hunter - primarily because i've never had one. so, i'm hoping that ya'll can tell me how you like the .25 springers (and under $400 pcps). - paul d self.

I will try to have the Kodiak assembled before your next visit. It gives me an excuse.
-
that would really cool, ron. hey, did you have an old scuba tank ? i'll like to buy it if you had one before you got the 44cf today.

In the video they mention the trigger. Are there any upgrades available for it?
-
i think that these newer models are supposed to have a better trigger. the older models have two screws on each side of the forearm. the newer ones are also supposed to have reduced recoil. i've about decided to try one of these newer ones in .22 cal. i like trajectory too much (and velocity). the old ones were an easy fix for the trigger, but it's still a plastic trigger, ron. there are no aftermarket parts that i'm aware of for this gun.....wait, think someone tried a wooden stock. i sold my last .22 walther talon mag to an 18 yr old in the acadamy parking lot. i had done a lot to it. i guess i miss it too much.
-
from what i know the new style has a way better stock the one with the single screw on the stock.
-
I just bought a m25cal wierauch hw90 that I really love trigger is perfect right out of the box, iwould buy another in a second!
-
just picked a talon magnum up going to get it tuned and camoed

that's what got - check it out . http://raneair.webs.com .

Works the same as the smaller caliber version, but the larger bores do make better use of compressed gas (HPA/PCP/Co2)...just more pellet base area to push on. With springers, would want one of the bigger-beefier springers for .25 use. Just need to generate more volume of high pressure gas to get the .25 working well; the larger bore needs a larger volume of gas to maintain decent speeds.
If going .25, then a gun strong enough to shoot at lest the medium (24-25gr.) pellets, and the heavier weight Kodiaks (30.7gr.) would be even better. If just tossing 20-21gr. .25 pellets. may as well use a .22.
Have had an Exocet and a Stingray springer in .25 (both Wrbley products) and had no complaints. Big heavy pellets, lower speed, so trajectory was a bit loopy, but was certainly sadified with the performance on game (even at 40yards).
Currently have an HPA converted QB78 (converted to HPA and with a 23" LW .25 barrel) that is set to shoot Kodiaks to 685fps (about 32 foot pounds). Seldom have anything I really need to thump that hard, it certainly works on squirrels, but so does a .22 or .177. Once in a great while, have a garden raiding 'possum or racoon show up, which is where the .25 seems to do it's best work.

Yep if I can get my hands on a webley .25 I would be set if not ill go with a airforce condor the benjy trail is my last pick
-
Another choice, although I've not pulled the trigger on one.

yep i looked at the fennix months ago sweet but lacking on power
-
it completely rocks in .177, very accurate 950 fps w/ cphp's. dropped a raven from 60 yards w/ it the other day, aiming about 1" high. that was impressive. it's an old rws 94 that i got from the umarex guys for under $100 shipped. just needed a bit of lube. this is one of the best we have now. nearly perfect design, easy to cock , accurate, and fast. trigger could be better, but it's pretty good for plastic.
-
Paul if you come over next weekend could you bring the 94?
-
i gave it to jed for christmas, after i lubed it. i'll bring both....and the chrony for everyone to use. he's probably got the best .177 we have, ron. it's a better gun than my vintage rws 36 - even w/ the vortek pro-guide 2 kit in it. i imagine that he'd be honored to come show it to you and let you shoot it for yourself. i've been hounding the umarex guys for another one, but no luck. (an rws 94 in .20 cal would be complete contentment.) -paul.
-
I have a Theoben Eliminator in .25cal. The biggest problem I find with .25cal is the lack of variety when it comes to pellets. Having said that, I understand that RWS and Crosman both are comming out with some .25cal pellets this year.
-
I've spoken to James Manou [the importer of Cometa] about the Femix 400 models being available in .20cal and he told me Cometa is tooling up to produce .20cal rifles! But he has not given a time when theyed be here for sale.
-
sweet. i NEED one of those already. i was thinking that .20 would be perfect on the rws 94.
-
hey guy where in so cal do you shoot and i have a friend that shoots rimfire/centerfire rifles he said cali has a ban on lead ammo have you heard this?
-
Pingdog2000, unless it was just instituted in the last week , I don't know of a total ban on lead ammo in California yet. The last time I went to the Cal. F&G website about a third of the state was off limits to hunting with lead ammo alledgedly because of conservation efforts for the California Condor. The law dose not apply to pellet guns though and lead pellets. Having said that, Tejon ranch has instituted a leadless rule for pellet guns on their property. There is an effort by the antihunter/antigun types to institute a statewide lead ban to put the hurt on hunters and gun owners. What the state of california did do was pass a law that will outlaw mail order sales of bullets and reloading components by 2011.
-
so will that ban apply to airguns and buying pellet thru mail order?
-
PD, Don't quote me on this, but from everything that I have read, the law should not effect pellets. But as you well know,..... living in the land of nuts and fruits,...that can all change at a moments notice.

Hello Paul,
I have a Walther Falcon Hunter in .25 that I love. It is rammed with an Apex seal and tuned with Macarri lubes. She is very accurate with irons and shoots Beeman CM's at 680fps and Beeman Lasers at 805fps! The sound of .25's hitting meat is very addictive. Oh yeah, did you ever sell that Gamo 1250 I sold you?
MC
-
yes, i sold it to jeff out in cailf. that was after i got an adaptor from ^*^()(%*^$%^)()(&( and put a walther falcon red piston seal in it, and installed a new mainspring. it was shooting a solid 1100 fps w/ 7.9 gr cphp's. that's pellet it liked best for some odd reason. it was really hold sensitive, though......and, damn, it was big and heavy. named her elizabeth. i think i sold for about what you sold it to me for. i'm getting some interesting products. check it out : http://raneair.webs.com .
