: Adjusting the GRT-III trigger on my CFX
: LongIslandArcher January 21, 2010, 09:04:20 AM
Okay, so now that I have the GRT-III trigger installed, I went to shoot the rifle this afternoon at the airgun shop.  I couldn't feel where the trigger needed to stop at the 2nd stage.  Which screw do I adjust in order to get positive feedback at the trigger for the 2nd stage?  Thanks.

If you read the instructions, you will see that all of that infomation is in there. Keep in mind that the second stage is not a "hard stop" but rather a slight bump and roll over as it comes up against it. You can also down load the trouble shooting guide if needed through the confirmation that you received.

The little hex screw is for the first stage and the bigger flat-head screw is for the 2nd stage.  I believe there's only 3/4 turn total!!!!!

TRIGGER ADJUSTMENT

1st stage: counterclockwise - more trigger travel and free play
: clockwise             - too much and safety might not catch

2nd stage: counterclockwise - less trigger travel

I read the instructions.  So if I want to be able to feel the bump more, do I turn the 2nd stage screw clockwise or counterclockwise?  Right now, I really can't feel the bump.

Best way I got mine adjusted was to take off action from stock and you can see what is happening when you make adjustment. This way you can avoid bear trapping the AG when it cock barely with the sear and piston. You push down the sear and see how much metal is engaged and make tiny adjustment the way Stanley posted it above. Properly adjusted trigger will give you light 1st stage and slightly harder felt 2nd stage.
