Was planning to sight in my friends new CFX, he got one of those plastic triggers. Anyways, he had a recon too so I asked if I can borrow it (stock recon, nothing done to it). It's got the tiny 4x20mm scope on it. Well, while I was outside, setting up, my daughter, she's 9, asked me what I was doing. And I got to thinking, "Hmmmm, the recon is about 15-19 lbs to pull, she might be able to do it". So I asked her if she wanted to join me, she said sure. Of course she was much more enthusiastic than that.
So I set up my targets, about 30 yards out and then I set up her targets, about 10 yards out. I go over with her all the different parts of the airgun, the barrel, scope, stock, trigger, and safety; also some do's and don'ts. I also told her to set the safety on after every shot, a good habit. I sighted the airgun with Gamo Hunters and then gave it to her. The first time she cocked it was kind of hard for her, which got me worrying whether she can do it for long periods of time (she eventually got use to it). So she gets to shooting, but I couldn't really tell whether she was hitting what she intended to, so I setup 20 .oz empty water bottles and 12 .oz empty soda pop cans. Every shot, bottle/can goes flying. She's all excited of course.... so was I. I got to thinking some more, "Hmmmm, I wonder if she can hit smaller targets." So I took off the bottle caps and turn them up, with the circle facing up, so it's about a quarter size target. After a few shots, she started nailing them, one after another. This got me thinking some more, maybe she can do better than this. So instead of setting the caps sideways, I lay them flat. Wow, I was amazed, 5 shots 5 caps. I was so amazed that I even competed with her. Whoever shoots the caps off, mine were 30 yards out, with the least number of shots, can sit while the other person sets up the caps again. Course, I didn't lose, but she was really into it. We spent a good two hours out there, and she probably shot close to 200 rounds (250 count Gamo Hunters is almost empty). I have myself a plinking buddy. Time to get her loaded. I think she's ready, wouldn't you say?
I'm very excited and just wanted to share that.
So I just pushed the button for a Lady Recon. Gonna set it up with nice scope, lube tune it, and put a GRT III. I hope it's not the plastic trigger (will have to wait and see).

I ordered my son a recon from pyramid air for Christmas and it has the plastic trigger. :emoticon: Maybe they don't sell alot of the pink ones and you will get lucky.

I was afraid of that and decided not to order mine from Pyramyd. It's coming from Amazon.
