We had 10 inches drop last night toped with sleet.
Just started snowing again.
-
Where do you live?
-
North Carolina
-
Just saw you guys are getting a lot of ice.
-
Same "Global Warming" going on here on the west coast of TN. We got 9-10" of snow after a layer of sleet. Rain and snow on and off for the last 24 hours. Below freezing temps keeping it from melting till possibly Monday. YUCK.....

Dang. Tommy and I hail from the Bluff City. We used to like the snow and ice. We had a nice Champion F-56 and some hills to slide on.
It's 32 here in big D, rained like heck on Thursday and Friday, but no ice or snow - still seems pretty frigid by our standards. I bet it warms up here tomorrow...
I'm ready to go shoot my new pistol, will have to pay for an indoor range.
-
Just some bone chilling temps here :0 teen's during the day and low single digit's at night. The critters won't even come out to play. :0 Ed

Bluff City = Memphis, although Whitehaven was not really part of Memphis when we grew up.
-
Duuuhhhh....a lot of companies in Jackson go by the name Bluff City. Didn't think about Mempho....LOL
Guess they ARE on the coast and really a bluff city.
-
Memphis _is_ the "Bluff City", named for the fourth Chickasaw Bluff on the Mississippi, the best landing on the river for many hundreds of miles.

Jackson being 85 miles east of there, you can see my confusion. Jackson's a nice town, though.

Only about 4cm....1 1/2" of snow over the last 3 days.....but the stiff wind... 40 to 60kph (35mph) blew them into small snow drifts.
-
Just lucky, ...

With 20 deg. temperatures, and wind chills below 10 degrees. the weatherman was wrong again !
They predicted that the storm would miss us, and as expected it didn't ! Two inches of snow on top of some light ice !
When they forecast a dusting, is suggests you better stock up on supplies, when they call for a blizzard, forget about it ! These, well educated guys with Billions in satellites, radar, and computer simulators, ain't as good as The Farmers Almanac ! And they forecast over a year in advance !
Give me the Woolly Bear Caterpillar any day !

My wife's family all grew up in Whitehaven. Did you know Sonny (my Father-in-law), Betty or Mark Howell? They grew up on Hoyt Wooten's place. Their Father, Smith Howell (my wife's Grandfather), was Mr. Wooten's foreman/boy-friday. Wouldn't that be a small world if you all knew each other.

P.S. You probably know this already, but Whitehaven isn't what it used to be any more.
-
No, I don't recall those names. Tommy and I went to Hillcrest and the Wootens were Whitehaven HS people.
But I am sure that my father (who managed the Auto-Lec store in Whitehaven Plaza about 1/4 mile from Graceland) knew them, and we have mutual friends.
We lived on Rosebanks, right down the street from Dick Hackett.
Yes, Whitehaven is now known as BHZ, home to a bunch of rappers and hoods, and the old Whitehaven Plaza is mostly razed. I left there in 1976.
