This is at the end of the shoot today. I had been shooting for a while and tried for some 40 yard groups
(Rich I lied ... they were 40, not 50 yards :) )
Any how, let the pic speak for it's self..... although the only tags I got were when I was at my
wobbliest, looks like I need LOTS more practice. Dano git yer self up here so we can shoot some. :D
-
Donate it to me, I'll be sure to get you a receipt for next years taxes.
-
Good shootin......
I know what you mean about the sore arms. I love my 1250 also, but after about 30 or 40 shots I'm done for the day. I have a bad rotator cuff joint in both shoulders and the 1250 takes it's toll on them after awhile, that's why I don't target shoot with it except to make sure the scope is dialed in for hunting.

Amen Jeff....:)
-
Hey I'm ready to go at a moments notice!
Should be meeting JMG up in Gainesville this coming week...maybe next we'll go your way?
Dan
-
LOL, yeah. I have a gammy wrist and it kills it. I have to change cocking arms after about 30 shots.
I can however testify to the fact that my arms have gotten stronger since I got it.
I used to fade after 30 shots, now I can manage at least 60 before crying "Uncle!"
After shooting this beast the CFX feels like a feather. :D
-
Yep ... and one of the reasons I won't tune them. That and lack of good parts.
-
I have you on my calendar for the 21st .... shoot and small BBQ + beer, you still coming right??
JMG can come along also, he's not far from where I go punch paper. It's at exit 42 on 75 just
North of McKinney. It'll be good to meet up and put faces to these names.
Next weekend I'll be going up to Texoma to do some camping with my sons, the weekend after
that I'm shooting all weekend.... I hope.
:p
-
Well I hate to see a fellow member in pain :0 so go ahead and send it my way. I've been working out with my thighmaster er I mean in the gym. :D Ed
-
now thats just plain wrong..... but we love you man, so we'll just pretend like you never mentioned
the TM thing hehe!! :D
-
Awww c'mon Bob... hehe! :D I was just thinking of stripping it down and checking it over.
Maybe a little lube tune, just to be sure that everything's good.
Looks Like I'm going to have to get me one of the Rich spring compressors, I need to lube both
the 350 and the 1250. although I hear that the spring on the 350 is not that bad and that I should
be able to get it out and back in with an extra set of hands. What do you think Bob?
-
I have a spring compressor if you need it...might need to tweak it a little for your gun, but it works for most stuff:)
Just send me an email and remind me to bring it when we shoot.
Dan
-
Well, I'm an O'Douls guy myself, but I bet I could drink 30 of my beers and still shoot straight:)
The 21st sounds good to me, you have a zip code for this location? I can plot it on Google Earth...I have just started putting airgun locations together on there...well, besides airgun people, this will be my first real "location"...oh wait, I DO have the Kermit Airgun Club range in Google Earth too...and Gene's house! I found McKinney, I found 75....huhm, not seeing exit 42:(
Dan
-
Sorry no zip, but here's the Google map to it.
it's the little red ringed area around the small pond.
It's used as a 4X4 stomping ground and target range. Also a couple of Grackles every now and again :)
Well if you don't mind me drinking lite beer I promise not to worry either :) ..... yeah the straight
shooting bit is why I have the beer AFTER the shoot LOL :D my arms are lame enough as it is.
I'll mail directions to my place a bit later.
Roald.
-
Thanks, Yes please. Can you fetch it along with you when you come up on the 21st?
That would be great, I could service both the heave springers then... :)
You Da MAN!
-
Oh by all means, enjoy your beers, it will only make my shooting look better:)
My spring compressor is like a lumber store disaster, but it does the job. I've had a few Gamo's openned on it, and a B30, and some Fast Deers....and well, it still works, so I guess it's pretty good....and heavy:) I'll bring it along, and even let you take it home for awhile...I don't even own a springer anymore:)
Dan
-
What pellets were you shooting? they punch a pretty mean hole in that paper at 40
-
Word of warning....:) Not your everyday spring compressor would be totally safe..:) I know I would not use mine to take my 1250 appart.. hehe... Bob took mine appart a year ago to get specs. on all the workings.. He named my 1250 the "Arm Buster" and for a good reason.. hehe But he did do a debur and major lube tune on it while it was appart.. That I am grateful for..:) It is sad that such a powerful air rifle has no source for parts..:-(.... And I might add that when I do shoot mine, I use Superdomes and at 50 or so yards it will blow a hole through 3/8" plywood...:-)............. Long Live the Gamo Hunter Royal 1250 .22
Gene
-
eeeesh gene, thats some smack the gun creates. I cant imagine having such a powerfull airgun (yet)... hows that samantra doing?
-
LOL Jason..... The Samatra is another story.. When I shoot it I am using those 31gn pellets and would not want to be anywhere near the front of the barrel...:)
Gene
-
I think its time I upgrade to a .22 . . or maybe one of those big bores. I need to keep up with this american obsession with /tim allen voice "more power" tim allen voice/
-
Actually the RWS 350 and the Gamo 1250 springs are not all that bad taking out as they are not that heavily pre-loaded. Not much different than most other guns and actually less than some. In fact, the 1250 isn't bad at all and easier than the 350. It's just when you want to crank them up to shoot that you see the big difference. It takes between 52 and 55 pounds to crank them over and my shoulders just can't take that abuse any longer. :0
-
Ya know I just bought my very first PCP, and I LOOOOOVE .22 cal and up guns, but somehow I decided on a .177 for the PCP. Just made more sense for me since I'll be shooting paper and cans and such....hehe, I bet a RWS Hobby pellet would come out of that thing at beyond the sound barrier for sure, but heavy Eui Jins and such should be pretty nice in that caliber....16 grain .177!!!
Dan

I use CP Heavies, It's MDF not paper. It's 3/4" and it shoots right through it, thats why it looks like paper :)
-
Thanks Dan ... I might just copy it then I'll have one too :)
