I am having a hell of a time, getting this Chinese 6-24-50 tasco mounted on my falcon hunter. I have both high rings and a high one piece mount. At first i had the high rings mounts in use. However, i found i was running out of adjustment with the up/down and left/right. So i cut a piece of plastic and set it beneath the rear ring mount on top of the rail. That helped. It gave me play both up and down for 15m shots (to cold to shot outdoors). Not perfect but functional. However, i was still almost completely out of left adjustment. How can i fix this? I have attempted optically centering the cross hairs, seems to only help a little. If i need more left play do i shim the right or left side of the rail (looking from back to front on the rifle) and should i shim the front or back ring. As mention the back already has the up/down shim under it.
I tried mounting with the one piece to see if things were any better and to see if the scope could hold zero a little better, but i have the same crooked problem. This made me start to consider open sites...
Sort of off topic but has anyone removed the breaker on the wfh and put on a better front open site? I really hate that the red front fiber optic site is encased in black plastic that is rounded instead of squared.
It is a little to imprecise for my liking.

Hey Edward, have you checked accuracy with open sites at the same range? If so, is the rear sight close to center or way off to the left? I ask just to eliminate the possibility of a bent barrel. Do you have any other scopes available to temporarily mount to your WFH? To eliminate the possibility of a defective scope.

Yeah, Edward...check the open sites first, to see if the problem shows up there. I've got a Leapers 6-24x50 scope mounted on my WFH just like you, and I've got plenty of up, down, right andleftadjustment. There's a myriad of things that the problem could be related to besides the mount or scope...but start with open sights to start the process of elimination.

It should have enough adjustment in it to get your scope spot on.
