: Has anyone made a B3 Piston yet???

I'm looking to get some dimensions or a drawing and parts/materials list sos I can study em!

Here's someone who did.  Nice guy, I sent him my IZH 60 to see if he could make one of his caps, but no go.  Turns out the 60 is about optimized as they come from Russia.  Later.

I don't have any dimentions but it would not be difficult to make if you have a lathe and milling machine. The biggest problem is the offset on the end and the sear lockup . You could set the face to accept a real synthetic seal like an Apex also. At least it would be round...lol...

Offset? You mean where it tapers from 1 diameter to a smaller one? I haven't really looked at it closely enough to pay attention.

How about just shortening the factory piston to increase chamber volume? I was thinking 3/4" might be OK, maybe even a little too much.

Thanks Bob!

Sorry about that, Sam.  No, not me.  Guys name is Ed Canoles, hangs out on the Yellow as wved.  He's done some amazing things with oring sealed piston caps for the various R and HW series Beemans.  If you want more info, it's worth doing a search on the Yellow for his posts.  Later.

Yep... that's the area. I didn't pay to much attention to it and wasn't thinking much about swept volume either excpt that as is, the gun is only capable of so much power and that's it. The reason that they get the power that they do out of the box is because they are so loaded with oil (the seals that is). Once it burns out, some of the velocity will drop and unless the lube is maintained at a reasonable level, the consistancy will change and/or velocity loss (or excessive if over lubed). That's where the advantage of the synthetic seal comes in. No seal maintenance/lube required and a consistant level of power.

Also, I didn't take any measurement of anything except for the seal adapter and didn't even keep them. I figured for me it was a one shot deal and had it not been Gene's gun,.... no shot deal...lol...

To be honest, I usually just don't have the time to tinker like that. Besides, that makes it more interesting and challenging for the hobbyist.

Right on. Thanks Bob!

I get the idea. Kinda like what my dad used to tell me. "Why don't you just try it and find out. The worst that can happen is it won't work!"
