Some day , I 'm gonna grow-up. Some day. But not today. I 'm just having too much fun. At one time I thought I would be grown at age 16. Nope. Then I figured 21. Again, Nope. 30 I thought, that would do it. No again. Well, now I am more than twice 30 years of age and I still have not "grown up". I know all my x-wifes wish I had. And certainly my current wife. I still like rock and roll, fastcars, faster gals, guns of all types, and all the other stuff that I thought I would out grow someday. But NO.
Any of ya'll fiure to grow up some day??? Do you think you will make it???

Gentlemen, we really shouldn't knock ourselves, - this is nuts. While it may be intended as humor, the truth is men in our society today are portrayed as idiots every twenty minutes in most commercials and many movies. Seeing and growing up in this environment is affecting our young boys/men - with a pretty poor outcome for their "self-esteem". For some reason, some here portray their marriage as an adult/child relationship, - mind boggling. - This is definitely "off-topic" concerning air guns, ... but, I don't see a good long-term outcome with this for the future of our young MEN.

Thanks for the laugh Mike. My grown up life with the stress of being laid off twice in less than 18 months is killing me slowly! I believe a little child like, NOT CHILDISH , fun might just be the thing I need right now. ROCK ON DUDES. snookman

North Pack,I am "grown up" when I need to be.I go to work, pay my bill's and live a pretty "grown up" life. I am very responsible, as most of us are. I also am a "kid" when I want to be, when the time is appropriate. We arent knocking ourselves. It was a light hearted statement. Heck, if you can't make fun of yourself you need to relax! I also know of several very responsible "adult" parents that set a great example for their kids, but some of these kids need to be taken out behind the barn before they end up in prison.I also don't care how we are portrayed on t.v. My life doesn't revolve around what others think of me. I am honest, straight forward, and I am a hard working "adult". I don't mean to offend you with this post, I am just saying the origional post was meant to be humorous. [ at least it was to me] It fit's most men we all know, me included. Yep it is off topic concerning airguns, that is why it is in the back room.

John, the post I made is about enjoying life and not retireing to a rocking chair when you are past 60. I agree with you that Men are protrayed as Buffoons especially by the Hollywood Media. I have great self esteem and walk with my head high and take no BS from anybody. And as far as marriage goes, it is a series of compromises, but I assure you that mine is very mature. The last thing I will ever be is the child in any relationship.
And I thought the " Back Room" was the place to post any thoughts that don't necessarily pertain to Air Guns. And I would never knock anyone with malice in my thoughts.
John, I don't know you personally, but I have much respect for you. You are an active poster with alot of information that you share with others. I thank you for that.
Your fellow member and friend, Mike aka Bogey.

Ditto Bogey, - just kinda caught me off guard. I tend to see things through a "political prism" quite often, and men have been dumped on for decades now by the "politically correct" crowd. To say it gets under my skin, doesn't describe it. You are a first class guy, - no doubt about it, - best of luck.

I'm with you Bogey !
When I was 6 years old, my grandmother told me to never to get old ! So I did the best that I could, to never get old ! So I just stayed young in my mind :p
Well, as I shoveled snow for two days, my 26 year old mind meet up with my 59 year old body ! And my mind kept screaming that it wanted the 26 year old body back ! :o
When I'm enjoying myself, it may be said that I'm a bit immature, but when I'm angry, I'm a five thousandyear olddemon you'll never want to meet ! :emoticon:
It's a good thing that I'm difficult to anger ! :o especially when I'm shootin my air guns ! :emoticon:

I think I'm older than any of you that posted. I took Mike's post for the way I believe he intended....pokin' a little fun. I never have taken Hollywood's idea of mature men seriously. Anyway,I still feel like a kid sometimes. My wife of over 51 years seems to agree with that. We all need to be "kids" on occasion. Age is only a number.
