Nice shooting . I also on a 20 cal . Been thinking about putting a scope on my( new )Sheridan. Any input on different set ups for mine. I'm not fortunate enough to own one of the old school tack drivers.Nice rifle.

I bought the intermount from MAC 1....that allowed mounting a NcStar Pistol scope (2-7x32) forward "scout style" to faciltate pumping...The scope cost $42 from Optics Planet(free shipping)...it has a long eye relief of 8.5- 10" and works great on this Sheridan..and 7x is enough to take squirrels out to 30-35 yards...
The Sheridan is a 1975 model...re-sealed last year by MAC 1...it shoots Beeman FTS 11 gr at 675 FPS...but I've been using the Benjamin Cylindricals(14.3 gr) for knock down power on squirrels...

I heard alot about different mounts being flimsy and fragile.Don't want throw money away. And your right about the knock down power of those benji pellets.they seem to work fine in my rifle to . But those are the only ones i've tried.Gonna try those Predators next.
-
The only issue i've heard is the existing rear "open" sight....it is a "pressure" fit using two shims...causes solder to crack at barrel/tube...the intermount (not cheap) just clamps to barrel...Crosman has scope intermounts for these rifles, much cheaper, but they contact barrel/tube....and have a tendancy to slip...unless you use tape as shim..
I've never tried the Predators...but I sure like the benjis...

Great shooting and pic's wish I had some of those ground nutters around here to pick off. :) Ed

I have tried the Bsquare mount and is super solid on my sheridan. There is 2 that fit. the one that mounts on the side screw holes is ok, but it still rocks back and forth moving your POI up and down. The other one mounts on the thick part of the breach and is rock solid. I got a leapers 3-9x32 on it and is a really solid. At 6 pumps it puts beeman triple seal at 595 fps and is a great squirrel hunter. great shot and awesome rifle.

Nice shooting at those ground squirrels Richard!
Those old Benji Sheridans are still great airguns. I always wanted to get one when I was younger but did not have the extra $ so I settled for the cheaper C760. I remember looking at the catalogs and brochures for hours in the late 70's/early '80's wishing I had a .20cal. but a couple of years after the 760 I got my first .22 rimfire and it was powder burners for a long time after that before I got back into airguns.

nice shooting!

Good job Richard.
That first one looks like a biggy. Some of the others you've posted look like they'd be a bit larger than our average eastern Grays. Have you ever weighed any to see how heavy they get ?
Paul.

Excellent shooting and nice photos. Congrats on the hits at those distances.
-
Have not weighed any...will next time...both these were fat...breeding generally starts this month,so the females will be out foraging more than males to feed their litters...

Thanks...on the ranch hunts most I get are under 40 yards or so...in Cleveland Nat'l forrest shots are mostly out from 40-60 yards...difference is terrain..more places to hide on the ranches...lol..
