Do the following mods at your own risk. If you have any doubts I suggest not doing them, it can make your gun unsafe!
I really like my new 397. I didn't like the long heavy trigger pull. I could have bought a "supersear" but I'm broke and I like making stuff. After I read the article on how to make a 2260 trigger adjustable ( http://www.spiralsol.com/airgunmod/tipstricks.asp ), it gave me an idea. I had previously done the trigger mods on the Airgunsmith.com page which helped but still wasn't what I wanted. I made and installed the (simple) adjuster. I had a lighter spring behind the trigger but it wouldn't pass the "bump test" so I put the original spring back in. I can't feel any difference in pull but it will pass the "bump test" now. I made a brass safety button while I was in there. Also smoothed, rounded and polished the trigger then re-blued it. My Benji's trigger is GREAT now! Very short and crisp. A real joy to shoot. Here are some pics.

Matt:
Pretty sneaky! I like it! I like the brass safety, too.
Going to try the suggested lighter trigger spring? Makes a big diff.

Thanks for the info.I've been thinking about mounting one of those peep sights on my blue streak . How do like yours and its ability to improve your accuracy.

About the spring: Yeah, well. This time I read the post instead of "reading" just the pictures. My visual thing gets away from me often enough.
I suppose you could put the light spring in and call it a target gun.....
I was amazed at what some mild contouring, polishing, a light trigger spring, and my super CRC grease did in my 392. Bump test no problem. Wish we could post the "feel" of things so I could compare. Seems to me that there is a large range of trigger behavior that is easy to shoot well. Keeps me confused.

When I ordered the peep for mine, I wasn't sure I'd like it. Now that I've got it, I love it! It's hard for me to say how much it improved accuracy, I didn't shoot it much with the factory sights because I didn't like them.

Did you make the brass aperture and thumbscrew for the peep sight? I like them. I have the peep on my 392 but it shoots high at 10-20 yards with 28.4 grain Eun Jin pellets, even with the peep adjusted all the way down.
