I've been wanting a marauder for the past year to complete my crosman colection and airguns of airizona has them for $399 but crosman is all I own, thinking of getting something different what would you get if you had only $420 to spend?
-
Stick to the Marauder, you won't regret it. Sure for $420 you can get a nice german springer and all, but it's hard to beat the M-rod features and accuracy.
Chris
EDIT: If you feel you have too many Cromans, sell your other ones!
-
Get a German made Beeman. Soon they will be history.
-
Get a Marauder! They are an excellent all around rifle.
It was my 1st PCP rifle and I love it! Very accurate, hard hitting... quiet!
My 2 cents.

Get the Marauder, you won't be sorry. AOA and Straight Shooters are both selling the M-Rod right now for $399 and you can't beat 399 bucks for a rifle with so many great features as the MRod. Complete that Crosman collection and go for the MRod :)

A nice German springer. You can buy new or used. I too, like the Beeman rifles. The bluing is top notch along w/ the checkering and lets not forget accuracy.
-
I would buy a rws diana 350 feuerkraft and a decent leapers 3-9x32... in .22 is going to be a great hunter and a very accurate rifle, and all for about 400 bucks. If power is secondary to accuracy or finish, you can't beat a HW 30. and you'll have money for a very good scope...
-
If I had it to do over with what I know now, my first shooter would of been a Beeman R-9 springer. My first PCP would of been a Disco or Maurader.
Good Luck

(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif)Iwould go for a B26 or a B40 either caliber would be fine, paper punching or hunting. Two nice AG's well made and accurate between 10m to 40m 3/8inch to 3/4inch groups would not be a problem. Heck with $400.00 you might be able to buy both.....Shoot Safe and Enjoy.....Bill(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif)

I do believe that I would spring for the HW-95.
-
I would l love to get a hw77 but they just went up in price to $625 and I haven't seen many go up for sale lately.I would only buy something used if I could look it over so thats out of the question. I am looking at the benjamin trail xl in 22cal,but realy don't want anymore chinese guns I have enough.
-
I have a RWS 460 AirMag w/scope .22 I would sell you for 400 bucks.
-
Hope this isnt too late but If your looking for a good gun theat shoots straight (with the right pellets) I love my Gamo Hunter with the gas piston. I put a leapers Tactedge scope and GRT 3 trigger on it and I cannot say enough. It shoot through milk jug of water at 35 ft hard enough to leave dents in the 2 x 8 that I put behind the target. I can hit 1/2 in groups at 30 yds and hit small steel out to 60. This is an absolutely awesome gun and I have about 360 invested in it. I cant wait to shoot it again this weekend to see wht kind shots I can pull off. I highly recommend it adn cant honestly find anything bad to say about it.

Spark,
I have bought most of my air rifle used: from Minn, Indiana, Washington State, Ohio, Wisconsin, New Mexico Arizona, and a few places I am sure I have forgotten about .I didn't have a chance to look at a one of them, other than e-mailed pictures. But, I did call and talk to the owner of each gun , before I bought the gun. There is not a one I would send back. I also talked to a few guys with rifles and decided to pass. Take the time to learn about the man (or Woman) and you'll learn about the gun. If I only had $400 to buy an air rifle it would really depend on what I had but odds are I would buy through the classifieds here or elsewhere. If an HW-77 is what you're looking for, take your time, check the adds day and night and talk to the guy.In fact,I was thinking just today that I might know where there is a used but unabused HW-77 I might talk to a guy about. Good luck.

Would look at the Evanix Renegade from PyramydAir. Lots of power and it looks good too.
-
I just converted a .22 cal. CFX with scope ($169.99 from Airgundepot) with a Theoben gas ram ($145 from Airgunwerks) along with an upgraded trigger ($30 from AirgunsOfArizona) and a JM seal ($10 from AirRifleHeadquarters). I'm putting 14.3 grain Daisy wadcutter pellets into 3/4" pine with the rifle and the holes look like they were made with a drill.
-
Two tf89 one in .177 an one .22 with leaper scopes and pellets boom 400 spent nicely
-
A couple to consider would be 1) a B40, because of the recent rumblings that the BAM guns may be less available in the future, and 2) one of the Cometa offerings (Fusion or Fenix).
Your most important requirement is to buy something I don't have, so I can try it out at the next NTAGM get-together....
-
Hey Bill I was looking at the B40,that might be the only chinese gun I would buy!I ended up getting a Marauder.177 from AOA realy don't think I could find a better gun for $399 I was realy wanting a new hunting rifle but realy needed something to do more target shooting with and some long rang grackle control, man they are realy startiing to get thick aren't they!
-
There is an Evanix AR6 that might be within your price range in the classified section right now. I
-
Disco with Pump!
-
The Evanix AR6 Hunting Master produces 60+ fpe with the 32.4 grain pellets. It is a powerhouse and can easily take out varmits at 100+ yards.
-
Congrats on the new gun Garry! Hard to beat it for the price they are going for that's a steal. Make sure to bring it next time you come over.
-
Ron you know I will, that is if it ever gets here!I am #34 in back order a AOA but I have waited two years to get one of these so I guess I can make it a few more weeks.I already have two exrta mags sitting here loaded up with some H&N Barracuda's just waiting for it to show up!
-
Garry have you seen that Greg has a prototype of a mod to increase the capacity. "Haven't had time yet to test shot count on a .22 but the .177 showed a good gain, Set for 20fpe I got 102 shots with no p.o.i. change at thirty yards."
-
I have not seen that yet.I will have to take a look at that because that would be awsome since the Mrod is going to be my FT rifle and 100 shots @ 20fpe would shoot a match with one fill.
