It's too bad the show has such limited broadcasting. Maybe if it had better exposure, it would create more interest. I also would not hold my breath waiting for the DVD set either. I heard it was coming out for Christmas, then summer of 2010, so it's anyone's guess. Again, the limited exposure leads to limited reviews leading to limited interest. I think we really have to understand that even though we, the members of GTA and other airgun fanatics, are serious about our sport with a strong desire to expand it, we collectively are a small group. For the last 1 1/2 years, I have worked very hard to expand the sport by having 2 shoots every summer, but my attendance is still relatively light, attracting only 100 a year within my area. But it is slowly growing. We ALL have to be "stewards" to the sport if we want magazines, events and the growth of what we love to do. We have to engage and sell it to everyone we know. We need to have some passion in order to attract others. Lee

Great news for those of us rural dwellers with Dish Network! I just searched it up and set the DVR for 2:30 PM Mondays, in HD. Sweet!

We'll have to disagree with you on that one Lee. Sportsman Channel will be in over 35 million homes by the end of 2010, surpassing Outdoor Channel, With Season 2 just around the corner American Airgunner has the Prime Time "Lock & Load Thursday" night slot. We are very pleased to be bringing this wonderful sport into so many millions of homes.

Actually, Sportsman Channel is on Time Warner, but not in every market. Check with your provider and see if they offer Sportsman Channel On Demand

There's no guessing really. When we can raise the $30,000+ (thats with doing all the work in house, except for duplication and printing)it takes to produce and distribute a 13 episode DVD TV series, it will be available. :)

Well Paul, at 35 million viewers, that's about 10% of the population by the end of 2010. I don't know as I would call that much more than "limited" exposure. Also, what would be your "guess" as to when you'll be raising $30,000+ to finish the DVD set?? Don't know about most folks, but that's a pretty good hunk of change. I wish you all the best. I'll be one of the first in line for the DVD's when they come out! I wish I could get the Sportsman's Channel. Don't know why the VERSUS channel stopped broadcasting the American Airgunner. I was up at 7:00 AM on Wednesdays to watch it for the 4 episodes I saw. Again, wish you all the luck and as I've told you in the past, anything I can do to help, I'd be more than happy to do it. Lee

Well it's 35million more households able to learn about airguns than there was in 2008, which was 0 households. As for the DVD's, we'll get to it when we have the time and money, it is not a priority at this point.. Meanwhile,we have 20-26 new HD episodes to create for 2010 :) As for the Versus channel, they are far too expensive to broadcast on for us. All we paid for was a 4 week flight, nothingmore. Versus wasn't even at SHOT Show, which says a lot about their interest in outdoor TV. Sportsman Channel isfar more committed to outdoor sports than Versus, which is interestedin mostly street fighting shows and bull riding.

Paul, I know it's an expensive undertaking to produce a DVD set but MAN, that's high. Especially if it doesn't include the duplication and packaging. I'm a former radio broadcast chief engineer and somewhat of a computer geek. So I know my way around electronics and various audio/video equipment. I've had experience editing and burning DVDs so if there's any possible way I can help you cut the cost and get the DVD set produced, let me know. I'll gladly helpany wayI can. I also have info on a DVD duplicator/printer that's extremely reasonable. I've looked into mass producing a catalog for my work place.

I also have an outlet for media storage cases and can print the inserts. I could at least help put together a demo set.

Thanks for your time and efforts to give us a quality showwhich helps promote our hobby/sport!!!!

WOW!!! That's excellent Dave!!! I know Paul has given up a lot of himself and his personal life to be as committed as he is to the air gun project. I'm sure you have just made his year! The rest of us out here are chomping on the bit for these DVD's. I spread the air gun word thru personal contacts, authoring air gun articles, hosting 2 pellet guns shoot per year, repairing and tuning air guns and driving my wife and family crazy. If we all don't do our part by spreading the word with passion, the air gun world will just stumble along at a much slower pace. I myself was in the graphic arts industry for 35 years, so if there is anything I can help you with Dave, please e-mail me or call 413-796-1431. Have a great day - Lee

Dave thanks so much for your ideas, we really appreciate it. You also have to consider the distribution costs, packaging, shipping, returns, customer service and support, etc. We believe we have the plan in place that makes the most sense. Thanks!

We have a plan in the works to create a website that will have some of our broadcast content, but not entire episodes.

Just wanted to bring this back up to the top- I have been recording American Airgunner off Dish Network now, and it is great! I think those of us who are able to enjoy it should write to the carriers to thank them for carrying the show, and encourage them to keep it on.

Paul did a nice mention of the online forums in the recent episode I watched, featuring a very familiar screenshotof GTA!

It was also the only place I am likely to see a DAQ going off in the near future, and the bit on the circa 1800 brace of finely finished air pistols was priceless. I don't know about the rest of you, but there aren't a lot of places I can see like-minded folks talking and shooting air guns, from the every day stuff in my closet to the exotica I only get to read about.

I know it is hard to please the die hards among us, but I think this is giving airgunning a great and responsible exposure to powder shooters and other sportsmen. All the best to you (and Crystal!) and please keep up the excellent work.

I also agree the American Airgunner TV is a wonderful media to expand the airgun community. Paul Cappello has given a lot of himself along with his family to pursue this goal. If we all raise our voices and do our part to educate others, we would all benefit from more media to satisfy our lust for more. Visit your local gun shops, join your local sportsman's clubs and appeal to their board of directors for more airgun sports, or visit the local Boy Scout troops. The time you spend will be rewarded. By the way, board of directors meetings are open to all, members and non-members!! Please respond to this thread with any other ideas you may have to help stimulate the movement. Remember - only a squeaky wheel gets greased!! Have a great day - Lee
