Goodmorning GTA, after chewing the fat last night with my GTA family and posting a pic of my hunting ground's I waited for Gene and Jeff to show up for my midnight hunt .;) Well they never showed, must of fell asleep cuddling their airgun's so at 12:00am I got my gear together and stepped out into the star filled night. After letting my eye's adjust I began moving out toward's my first stop, the downed tree in my hunting ground's pic..There's something very peaceful about mother nature at this hour, no sound's except for a barn owl that was probably hunting also. I made it to my log and settled in,no hurry so I poured me some java from my thermos and scanned the area around me looking for movement. One would be surprized at how much you can see at night out here with a clear sky and open spaces. Suddenly out in front of me object's began to move about, not just one but several. They were chasing eachother and I knew that it was rabbit's.Pulling up my B26-2 with a prechambered Gamo Hunter I layed her over the log and waited for them to take a break from playing tag. Atlast they both stopped at about 20yrds and about 5ft. from eachother, flipped on my headlamp, set my sight's on the one to my left and let her fly. the Gamo Hunter found it's mark!, I quickly chambered another Hunter hoping that the second one hadn't gone to far after watching his buddy take one. With my lamp still lighting up the area out in front of me I scanned the ground. Rabbit number two had made a dash out further and was hunkered down and still like. I layed my baby back across the log and and sighted in on number two. Once again the Hunter found it's mark.;) I relaxed back against the log finished my cup of java and thought, life is good. After looking at my watch, 2:35am I got up, grabbed my little trophy's and headed back home with a smile on my face. Got to my shop opened up, cleaned and wrapped my game and threw them in the icebox. Into the house for a little nap and up and ready for a brand new day in my shop. GOOD MORNING! fellow member's. Ed, happy hunting ;)

Those are some nice fat looking rabbits ya got there Ed. Great story and pics. You're right, while you were out baggin dinner I was sound asleep with thoughts of airguns dancing in my head :)
I plan on doing some hunting today, the "backyard type". Yesterday I put out a bunch of suet feeders,,, hoping I'll have the same luck in attracting starlings that one of my buddies is having in his yard a few streets over. Matter of fact, after looking at the picture of your fine looking B26-2 I've decided to break my 26-2 out and give it some excercise.
Again, great hunting adventure buddy. Any land for sale out there in SD? With all those bunnies and squirrels chasing each other all over the place I'm starting to think that my plan to retire in NC may need to be reconsidered.

I'm already doing research on "Google Earth" regarding Eds hunting spot :)
I love that site, one of the most useful tools I've ever found for scoping out new hunting territory.

It was a good night and The bunnies are getting in the love mode, it's just going to get better.Jeff, if your checking out this area from up there, you will notice area's of tree's with lot's of open field's and more group's of tree's. Lot's of rolling hill's. Ed
