Finally found the time to strip the S1K to change the broken spring and relube things. Was a pain to remove the rear guide as there was a huge burr at one of the pin holes, plus no spring tension to help push it out. Removed the burr before I pulled the piston out. Found no scratches inside( whew!), 1 metal chip in the side of the seal. and a small torn spot on the edge of the seal. Polished the ends of the new, stock, spring and made a thrust washer from SS for the tophat to ride against as I plan to shrink tube the guides, per CDT. Time consuming. Then polished all the sliding surfaces on the trigger ass'y. Just have to final clean and lube everything and put it together. I can see my field targets falling over already!

PS: Shadow's small airgun bench is much neater that my sloppy, crowded garage!

I've seen your bench pics, Bob. I just think you're concentrating on the addiction too much. Gotta have 7-8 projects going to get your space looking like mine, plus store all the junk you just can't let go of, in the same space! It's ALL MINE, HaHaHaHaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
