Today was the first time I've seen the sun in two weeks! I was outside on a conference call enjoying the light for a change and I noticed a nutter in the bottomlands!
Since I was out on the porch I grabbed my shooting stool. All the time I was guessing he would leave at all the activity-nothing. Then I grabbed the possum camera, flipped it off of nightvision, and pulled it out on the deck-nothing. THEN I went all the way downstairs, grabbed the 350, loaded a Predator and walked out on the deck-nothing. I turned on the camera and pointed it to the spot, casually set down-nothing.
Well THAT was too much for me! I took careful aim as it is around 35 yards down to the end of the big dead tree in my backyard. He gave me all the time in world, hold, breath, THWACK!!!! First his tail went stiff. I knew I hit him and hard! Then he went into this wild and crazy death dance!
I put the gun away and grabbed the still camera. He was shot and good right through the noggin! The "beast" strikes again!
Hope you guys enjoy the video and the picture. :)

That's pretty darned amazing. Nicely filmed.
-
Nice shooting! Thanks for the video!
-
The weather is a lot nicer even now! I was outside zeroing the 350 for long range with some CPHPs. I may try and take a raccoon or possum from the deck again. I'll setup the TF 89 for the "hide" and the 350 for the deck.

great shot
+1 on the video

Wow that video really caught the drama! Looks like the camera didn't like the bright light so much but you could still see what was going on. Very good shot.
-
The real video looks great, I think it is the conversion for the upload that causes it to be so poor.
-
great shot, 35 yards aint easy, specially with a magnum springer.

Well I am shooting where I shoot everyday so I know the ranges, drop, etc. It isn't as hard as you think. My 350 is the second springer I bought so it is well worn in now. I should post some pictures of the target I was shooting yesterday when the weather got really nice. I was putting tons of shots in a quarter sized area at 35 yards. I want to try another shot at a possum from the deck so I want to be sure the gun is sighted in well, that I practice, so I have confidence in the shot.
I've been practicing longer shots for my summer prairie dog hunt in late May early June! I was shooting my gamo squirrel at over 60 yards and knocking it down consistently. Now I seriously doubt it will be that easy in Kansas as the winds out there are horrible. I'm going to have a range finder before I go out there.
Between the 350 and the TF 89 all my other guns feel like toys! I think the secret to magnums is just shooting them a lot. I did a home lube on my TF 89 which has helped it a lot. Now the problem with shooting them is they can tire you out cocking them until they get worn in. When I first got my 350, about 50 shots was all I could stand. It actually bruised my shoulder!

Nice shot and video. Yep, that was freaky......tail straight up (Should be dead) but started flipping and cartwheeling a few seconds later.
