I just couldn't wait for the reviews of the new Trail XL to come out and since I told myself that I was done buying chinese it was an easy choice to get the Marauder.I already have a .22 disco and it's a great hunter so I got the MROD in .177 to do field target and long range pest control.I will put it through some heavy testing when she gets here because my disco is getting tired and needs a well deserved break and some tweaking on the valve to see what she can do!

Your gonna love your Maraudeer Spark..:) They are so quiet and accurate to shoot. Which caliber did you buy?
-
Gene I got the .177 mrod because I already have a disco in .22 and just needed this gun to mainly shoot targets, though it will be used in long range grackle control since I can no longer get close to them with out them taking off.

YESTERDAY I SPENT 4 HOURS WITH THE MARAUDER CALIBRATION THE SCOPE FOR FIELD TARGET FROM 10 TO 50 YARDS.
THE RIFLE IS VERY ACCURATE..... YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!! CONGRATS!!!!

I think that you will really like it Garry. To me, it's the best gun that I've ever had for reaching out long range and plent of power.

Hi everyone. A special shout out to Gene who did wonders with my Whisper. Just waiting for him to have some time to work on my RWS 54. Anyway, I picked up a .22 Marauder and I love it too. However, I started adjusting the three tune settings and now I can't seem to get it to a right fill psi or get the consistent string of shots that I want. I have a chrony and everything else needed to calibrate. Looking for any advise on how to tune it to 20 to 30 shots with 18 grain pellets at around 850 fps and a SD below 10. I'm having trouble seeing how the hammer spring relates to the fill amount. It doesn't seem to change for me... I've read the A-team approach to tuning the Marauder but it didn't help me much. I need a better understanding of the relationships between the adjustments that are made. Sorry for the long rant. Fist PCP. Always been a springer guy. Getting pretty frustrated after 4 nights straight trying to put together two good strings. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Thanks everyone. I received the new LED lights for my chrony yesterday. What a difference!! No more errors every couple of shots. Definitely a pain when your trying to tune and worry about air pressure at the same time. After a couple of hours of testing last night, I was able to get the following 20 shot string with .22 JSB Heavies (18.1 gr)
1st String
856 average
2.40 Standard Deviation
2nd String
848 average
5.23 Standard Deviation
Don't think I am going to be able to do much better than that. Sweet spot on fill seems to be at 2600psi. Let me know if you guys have had any different experiences.

Nice #'s, especially for an 18.1 gr pellet. My Marauder is set up for a 2500 psi fill and it shoots very consistent like yours. Right now I'm using 21.1 gr Kodiaks in it and the rifle loves them. The squirrels don't like them to much though :)

Thanks, yea the velocity drops off like crazy after 20 shots though. I've been shooting some of the H&N Baracuda Match (=Kodiak). Even at low 700's, those things pack a punch and the weight makes for some serious accuracy.

I know your numbers are nice but your velocity shouldn't drop that much after 20 shots, not like you're describing. Sounds like it's wasting quite a bit of air. For a while I was shooting 14.3 gr CPHP's and starting with a 2500 psi fill I would shoot a 60 shot string. It would start out around 860 fps, at the top of the power curve it would rise into the mid 900's where I would get around 25 shots in the 900's, then it would slowly go down so that by shot #60 I was into the low 800's.
